I made it to 15 lbs lost since January! This is a pretty signifcant amt for me to lose, as I only ever seem to lose 5 lbs or so and give up. The only other time I've had a bigger loss is when dropping baby weight. This personal success for me has a lot to do with this site and my great buddies out there who have been so encouraging all the way! I really probably could not have stayed focused without all the love and support! So, thank you guys for helping me lose so far!! My goal is to reach 139/140 by the end of June which should be do-able. My end goal is 138, but if I can get to 135, then even better! My original goal when I started out was 140 and I am almost there! I've been able to buy size 8 pants overall now which was also my goal! I was that size when I got married 13 years ago and weighed 125, so maybe the sizes have changed or I have just built up my muscle mass. Prob. a combination of the 2, although sizes prob have gotten bigger. It's all good though- I'm reaching my goals and it feels great!

I have not really been counting points, but still need to. Working has actually been portion control b/c I can only eat what I bring. I declined yummy looking pie the other day there without a problem, which was unusual for me. My supervisors heard of my unhappiness and uncertainty with the job and were very nice and encouraging to me yesterday. They told me I'm going great and right on track with my learning so to stop being so hard on myself and to take it at my own pace. They said it really takes about 3 months to feel comfortable with this position and then it will take years to learn all the other stuff in banking. Part of the prob. has been the 20 year old girl I have started with is super smart and was able to learn the computer system in a heartbeat. The one supervisor said that is how it is with younger girls like that b/c they have been brought up on a computer so it is second nature to them and they are risk takers. I really need to stop comparing my learning style to hers which is part of the reason I have not felt as confident. I've always been a strong employee but don't feel as strong when I compare the rate at which I learn the technical stuff to her. However I do notice it is much easier for me to chat and relate with the clients than it is for her b/c I have experience with that and can relate better. I just need to think positively and keep learning and it will all become second nature to me soon. Thanks for listening and hope you all have a great Thursday!

Congrats on the 2 lb loss! That's great progress. You are sure to meet your goals on schedule. Sizes have changed over the years but that shouldn't diminish the pride you feel from your accomplishments. It's all about how you feel anyway! Good to hear that you are feeling better about your job. Your supervisors were right to tell you not to compare your computer skills to the 20 something girl. My daughter can run circles around me with her computer skills and she is only 16! They start learning keyboarding skills in grade 2 or 3. I took TYPING (on a manual typewriter!!!) in grade 10! I didn't get my first computer until I was in my thirties. So you really can't compare yourself to her. And your people skills and life smarts will help you deal with a lot more situations than her computer skills ever could. Celebrate your strengths. The other skills WILL come with time. You're doing great!

You are doing great!! When starting a new job, everyone has their own pace, your company knows that. As far as the 20something girl, 1)Don't compare yourself!! 2) Does she have a husband? 3) Does she have a chid? 4) Does she have more than 1 child? 5) A mortgage?......See, you have MANY jobs!!!! You are just as "supersmart" & probably smarter & more valuable to the company b/c I'm betting you can multi-task a bit better than Miss 20something....something banks appreciate!! I know this probably came off a little harsh on miss 20something, but only mean it in the best way!! Keep up the great success on your chart!! Hugs!!

The fact that you are reaching your goals show that you are an asset to yourself and others. Don't ever let yourself compare yourself to others. That is self defeating. And that is not what you want. You are a winner. Keep it that way.

HI Rachel! I am so glad you are at peace w/ your decision. I CAN never deside on anything I want or need to do. I am actually facing the exact opposite. I enjoy working and love my job, but due to some issues and the prices of child care I am considering to stay at home. THE THOUGHT OF IT... oh i don't know if its exciting or nerve racking! we'll see. You are so brave to be considering new things in the fall.. someday I will start acting out my dreams. I am sure you will be in the 130 soon!
