Another drop. I am on my way to the gym for my workout...will write more later.

Morning Update:

Ok, so I put in my 40+ minutes on the treadmill at 3.5 speed and did over two miles. I burned about 300 calories and I feel completely awake. I weighed myself after the workout and the medical scale at the gym reads 214 lbs. Again, it is about 2 pounds less than my at home scale. I will keep referencing my home scale for consistency since I can't hit the work gym everyday but now I see that I may actually be closer to my low of 2010 than my home scale says.

Thoughts of the Day:

1) Music Selections - Ok, I see in yesterday's commentary that there are comments about the music being "young". I am 40 years old, however, I don't feel like I am my age...I feel like I am 27-32. Now, I don't try and act "young", I don't try and use the mannerisms or slang of today's youth, however, I have always been a fan of electronic based dance music. Back when I was in High School and College I was a big fan of Depeche Mode, New Order, Erasure, The Cure, etc. The lyrics and beats to their songs made me think and move at the same time. Now, today's version of some of that music is made by The Killers and some of the current EDM (Electronic Dance Music)acts like Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Armin Van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, etc. I like to dance, I like rhythm, maybe its because I am Hispanic, but ever since I was a little boy, I danced. My mother, may she rest in peace, would always reminisce of her little boy who would dance to 8-tracks of Elvis and the Grease soundtrack. So yes, maybe the music sounds young but for me its just an extension of the type of music that I have always loved.

2) Darker Days - As the winter rolls in we say goodbye to long days and we welcome in longer nights. Today, I woke up at 5:15am and headed to the gym. I got to the gym at 7:30am and the sun was coming out. Its kind of sad that it seems when we go to work it s dark and we we leave its dark. I know that Sun will be back but I love sunny days..., I will have to take a walk for lunch to get my sunlight!

I do feel great. Funny story, so I showed up to work after my workout in business casual and realized that I had a meeting scheduled today that was not on my calendar. SO, I ran out to Century 21...great store, bought a tie and a pair of slacks that matched my emergency suit jacket. I then ran to bathroom and changed. The slacks were size 36 but they were tight, I guess they ran small. I put the tie on and then ran out of the bathroom. Get to the meeting and the main guy in the meeting says "Wow, Gabe you are melting away..." Great great feeling. The slacks are tight at the waist while my jeans and my other pair of 36 slacks are looser. I know I haven't gained weight so these slacks must run small. Just was happy to make it back in time to change for my meeting. I hate LOTUS Notes...hate hate...luckily for us we are switching over to MS Outlook next year which has a better calendar system.

I'm glad to know that men have to deal with that size fluctuation thing, too. I can wear as small as a 10 and as large as a 16, it just depends on the manufacturer and even the fabric. You're doing fantastic!

Wow Hildi you are doing great! I'm with you on the dance music. I love it. DH has to put it in my Nano 6 for me but he is more of the classic rock stuff. I'm 60 but love all the new music on dancing with the stars. Hopefully when I get back to my fighting weight I can take dancing lessons again. Someone told me today that I was melting away too. It is hard to take so many compliments from coworkers that normally don't give me the time of day. :) I sometimes even feel guilty that I am successfully losing weight. Glad I have FS buddies that understand.
