Herbie's Journal, 09 June 2008

Aaairgh! I got very complacent recently and it turns out that "maintenance" does not equal "carelessness." :( Seriously, it's been a long month of finishing up the academic year and having guests visiting. This has led to : too many times of having dessert / a drink /pasta /too many baked goods etc.... I should know better than that. As my husband (who has been a huge support all along) agrees, it's been a long time since I was actually seriously "on the beach."

So, today is Day 1 again. I'm starting with a strict version of phase 2, to see how that goes. For me that means pretty much phase 1 except that I'll allow myself a little bit of fruit and/or whole grain cereal. It's hotter than heck here right now, but my schedule is finally opening up a bit so that will make it easier for me to commit to exercising more frequently.

Sorry to have been such a stranger. I have missed you all and I look forward to catching up on how my buddies are doing. Wish me luck!

Good to see that you are back for maintenance, at the same time that I enter stage 2. I would love any advice you can give about stage 2. I plan on fruit in the afternoon, and would like to start making my own whole wheat bread. I love that you've lost so much and are right back on track once you've put on a few pounds.

I know maintenance must be very hard. I'm just glad you are taking action early before you slip back into those old bad habits. Good for you!

They say that maintenance is actually harder than losing the weight. I don't know because I've never been there..lol. You have done the right thing by coming back to FS to help you get those few pounds back off!

Yep, been there and done that and didn't even get the t-shirt! Sounds like your right on things though and it is really is difficult when you're being a good hostess or guest and trying to accomidate the tastes of others. Now its back to serious busniess again eh! We are all in this continuing battle together! You have already proven you know how to do this... so feel free to lead the charge!

welcome back! You're calling in the strict measures early enough, before the weight comes crawling back--so good for you!! You'll be back in the saddle soon, I know it! Meanwhile, pass along some of your dedication and energy my way--I'm finding it tough to stay strong all the time--especially in the summer!
