Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 22 October 2012

I was just a teensy tiny bit endulgent this weekend. Ok.. I admit it. I ate like a pig. I'm actually surprised that the damage on the scale wasn't worse than it is! I'm going to take a moment to thank the scale gods........

I know alot of you have taken to saying what you're thankful for everyday. Until I reach my goal I'm going to say what I'm motivated by. Maybe I can motivate myself into turning down the pizza, wings, cinnabuns, milk duds, cookies, french fries, and other crap that somehow came within biting distance for me this weekend.

Today I'm motivated by my screwup. I know part of it was because I wasn't recording like I should have, I wasn't drinking water like I usually do, and I didn't keep enough healthy options available to me. Now I've set myself back 2 lbs and I have 3 to lose by the end of this month to reach my goal. Seeing where I've gone wrong and what I've done to reaching my goal is motivating me to work twice as hard this week to fix things.

Plus.. recording a gain sucks butt.

Well on board with me chickadee! You saw how I fixed last week after my dinner out right? Well this weekend it was more what I ate rather thatn how much and got Tom yesterday so I'll be all messed up. So it's clean eating for both of us! Low sodium and lots of fresh food and lean meet. It will be like the weekend didn't even happen!

The gratitude lists are part of a Challenge we participate in at this time. I love the idea of a "motivation" list! Also, there is a Group I am in that is targeted for the weekends only! We "chat" and encourage to get through the weekends - check out my profile with the Group names and join us! It helps. Have a happy deer-free day in your size 12 pants!

Weekends certainly are harder than my very structured weekdays. Last Saturday me (and my son) had an issue with some ribs -- perfectly low-carb IF I hadn't indulged in what was probably 3 portions....GRRRR!! I totally know better. I like your idea of a motivation list -- today I am motivated to remember portion control.

The gains do suck butt! I like the idea of writing what you're motivated by. It's so easy to say what we need to do, but actually doing it is the hard part.
