Hi Everyone! I'm new here on this I site which was recommended to me from a friend at Atkins.com which I started 5 weeks ago this Monday. I need to lose a lot of weight and I rarely diet because I didn't feel I could stick to it because of my terrible sweet tooth and lack of willpower. I have lost 12 lbs so far and a few inches but I have a long ways to go. My daughters upcoming wedding in a year is my motive. I also am new to blogging. I don't tweet, blog, no Facebook, etc... I am a very private person so this is all very new to me but here goes! Your advice is very much welcomed!
219.7 lb Lost so far: 10.3 lb.    Still to go: 84.7 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

hi nena,well if you are ready to change your life this is a great place.i was 210 when i started this journey just about have 30lbs to go.i am very motivated right now and if you would like a buddy add me.a couple of my buddies are doing a friendly challange together.you are welcome to join.I am glad to hear you dont keep sweets around.if your on atkins you maybe should get rid of the bread too.what works for me is low-carb,exercise,water and Fatsecret!Best of luck to you!

Hello Nena! :) It sounds like you're starting out really well! 12 pounds is great!! Congratulations! :D I've been a big believer of eating low carb for years, but in the past it was always just a "quick fix diet" type thing to me. Not anymore, though. I am changing my eating habits for good this time. And for me, low carb is something I can do forever. I've been on this site since August and I have learned so much more about the Low Carb Way of Life than I ever knew before. There are lots of people here to support you along the way, give you advice, answer questions and share their experiences with you... and their recipes! :P We're all here for the same reason, so you're never alone. You may add me as a Buddy as well, if you want. Happy you're here :)

Welcome Nena -- I will tell you that Atkins is the way to go. I've been at it for 2-1/2 years and have made it my lifestyle choice -- getting close to my goal too. I started Fatsecret for keeping track a while back and that has been real motivational.
