Decent 2 lb loss for the week. Finally under 200# for the first time since I've had diabetes. It hasn't been for a lack of trying that its been so long. Before NIDDM, my weight was generally in the 185-190 lb range and I had little trouble maintaining it without special diets. Once I began treating my NIDDM with the doctor/dietician ADA recommended diets, I was doomed to ever increasing weight gain and progressively worse diebetic complications. Thank God for Dr. Richard Bernstein who got me thinking outside the "ADA" box. Also Dr. Atkins for his easy to follow and highly effective plan.

It took me ~4 months to fully commit to the LC way of eating, but when I did, I was plesantly surprised how easy it is to stay on program. I'm also eating more and higher quality vegetables than ever in my life. For the first time in many years I have abundant energy.
197.5 lb Lost so far: 56.5 lb.    Still to go: 13.5 lb.    Diet followed 100%.
