kingkeld's Journal, 22 August 2012

Ouch. Weight is up a little, and I am very sure why. Of course, it can still be water and fluids and all that, but I did poorly yesterday.

I started out with all the best intentions, but couldn't resist the goodies throughout the day. Trouble is, once I start I don't wanna stop again.

I stopped registering my food, and started munching instead. Dammit.

Anyways, today is another day.

I think the issue is that I don't see any bigger changes in my weight, and that it's mostly fluids. I try hard, and the weight goes up with several lbs. I slack, and it re-adjusts to something pretty nice. It's all over the place.

However, I know that consistency is key to push the numbers further down, but these days it takes quite some convincing to get it done.
I will do better on this. It starts today. I don't want to get stuck in the 80's.

Wife and I also had a little talk about the foods we've been eating lately. LOL. That sounds like "I gave Wife a talking to..." - that is NOT what I meant. We just had a chat. :) Anyways, we've been slacking on our veggies, and had way too much bread, pasta, potatoes, etc lately. We've been tired when we come home, and it's just easy cooking. We're shaping up on that - starting yesterday with chicken breast, carrots and broccoli. Same thing for lunch today, and same veggies for dinner, but with Danish meatballs. I have a feeling that this can help kicking things into gear, along with a strict no-sugar policy. I gotta get my butt going.

I probably do better than I think - Actually, I KNOW that I do better than I think - but I want to have the feeling of being on top of things. I need to be there.

My bike ride - all five minutes - yesterday went great. So great that I had NO exhaustion from it, no soreness or anything else. Of course, it's only five minutes, but trust me - I get physically tired very easy.

I did 6 minutes today, and it was all good also. I think I will keep upping by a minute every day as planned. So far so good.

Work yesterday was good too, but it was a LONG day. I had two interviews, and I could tell that they really wore me down. I was beat afterwards. I didn't even do the paperwork. I have to do this today. This afternoon I have a long meeting - this is probably good for me to not be completely exhausted.

All in all, it's gonna be a long tough week. I will have no day of rest, though it's not all work either.

I work (of course) all the way through Friday. No Black Peanut rehearsal Friday (fortunately), but we will be playing live Saturday. And then I have rehearsal with Burn/Burnin' Live Sunday afternoon.

I will probably regret this, but I really like playing both bands and I don't want to miss out. It's simply too much fun! :)

I can tell that I am tired already though, and it's only Wednesday. I kind of dread seeing how next week is gonna go.

I'll have to suck it up and keep moving as much as I can. If nothing else, I'll have to take a day off somewhere.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- another good night's sleep.
- being back doing little bike rides. It gives me an "on-track"-feeling that I really need.
- Morning Coffee! :)
- The outlook to a (hopefully) fairly easy day.

Happy hump day! Life is good!

I did pretty poorly yesterday too Keld, it happens to the best of us then (me!) lol. That is great your easing back into biking, most of us would jump on a bike, overeat, get depressed, then eat poorly. So, take it easy and have a great day. And like Erika says, dont forget to take care of that healing body.

it is always the same: you start with something small and write it down...then you eat one more and forget to write it down and before you mention it, you have eaten it all and can't stop... but at least you're back on the bike track! good job!

It's good to hear that the bike is going well for you. It is a start and isn't it said that a journey starts with the first step? Take care.

Awareness of where things aren't working is the best way to get back on track, and it sounds like you've got that awareness, a plan, and the motivation. Sounds like a winner to me! Get some rest. That is important to your healing and your weight loss. Just saying!
