Lucybell33's Journal, 10 April 2008

Oh yeah - this is more like it! And into the 140s for the first time in around nine years - hoorah!!

Yesterday was a high cal day (1,570), which was great - it honestly felt like I was eating all day long and I wasn't a bit hungry! Dinner was a new invention: haddock poached in vegetable stock, rice vinegar and soy sauce, served on top of egg noodles and stir-fried vegetables. Very tasty, because the haddock absorbed the flavours of the poaching liquid, and very filling!

To balance out the extra cals, I did as much exercise as I could, starting in the morning with the entirety of Rosemary Conley's Shape Up & Salsacise DVD - 50 minutes of cardio followed by 20 minutes of toning - phew! In the evening, I did a 25 minute pilates workout (#1 from Pilates Weekly Workout DVD), but it was SOOO boring, I don't know if I can face that one again. Any suggestions for good pilates/yoga DVDs? I think that I should start doing this kind of flexibility workout on top of my cardio and toning sessions, but I want to feel like I'm actually achieving something!

Happy Thursday everyone!! :D

BRAVO on hitting a NEW LOW!! AWESOME!! Dinner sounds scrumptious! I can't offer any help with a new dvd, good luck, but I'm sure someone here has some suggestions! Keep up the great work!

Have your tried the Windsor Pilates by Mari Winsor? I got in a club where I get 2 new ones every 6 weeks or so, so it mixes up the routine. They are also short - about 20 minutes each, so you can squeeze one in pretty easily. Some are a complete body workout, and some foucs on different areas (tummy, back, legs, etc). They are not too boring. You are doing fantastic, by the way! I let my weight creep up a few pounds over the past few weeks, I'm sure from too many desserts hubby keeps bringing home! I'll have to get witht the program myself.

Thank you everyone, and extra thanks to Pink for the DVD suggestion. I can't actually find that one on Amazon.co.uk, but that's such a great idea about joining a DVD club! I'm going to look into Amazon's DVD club right now!! :)

Woohoo... that's definitely more like it and brilliant!! Although I'm jealous now as I'm not quite there yet. But yay, have managed to get down 2lbs so far, so let's hope these nice numbers stick for us for Saturday. So big congratulations Leanne, as you really deserve it!! ;o) The only pilates I've ever done is the "Pilates Dyna-Band Workout" DVD currently £10.99 at www.play.com. That one has three 15 min sections - warm up, upper body and also floor work for the lower body and abs. I find doing this one quite relaxing in a strange kind of way and especially like the upper body section for strength training. If you come across anymore though... let me know, as it's always nice to have a bit of variation isn't it. Sounds like you had a great workout yesterday though... so just keep up the great work there and those scales can only go down further. ;o)
