I decided what to do at my "reward" when I hit my goal weight. There is a zip line ride in Western Mass. I want to go do that when I reach my goal. It is something I can't do right now, because of the weight restrictions. And, It will be something memorable, fun...and downright exhilarating!

I was never one for creating rewards for myself for reaching goals. I guess I always felt that the loss was the reward in itself. But I like the idea of this. It is definitely something to look forward to, and that I can do with my family. Something they would have had to do without me in the past.

You sound like a brave soul - not sure what a zip line ride is but it sounds scary. Good job planning a reward. We are so good at giving gifts to others - much harder to give gifts to ourselves.

Sounds like an adventure indeed. However, my feet will be firmly planted on the ground as I cheer you on in your somewhat suicidal plunge to the other end of the line.

Sounds like a wonderful idea. I've seen them on TV and we have a 100' one in the backyard for the kids coming from the tree house. My friends have all tried it after a few cocktails- the weight rating is very high, like 500#- but I haven't due to feeling uncomfortable with my weight.

The weight rating at the one I am interested in is 250#. I am getting closer to that, but I would prefer to wait till I was at a healthier weight. I know it sounds a little suicidal!...but, I think it will be fun in the way that scary rides can be, but also it is through a gorgeous area, through the tree top canopy. That is something you don't get at an amusement park. Years ago, I did some rock climbing. As terrified as I was on the side of the cliff, the view was incredible. And the rappel down was a blast!

I did the zip line thing in Thailand for my birthday the year before last. It was wicked pissah! Don't forget to take your camera and put it on video--DO NOT forget to use hand-strap! Also, I went for the "BIG" package and didn't realize that I had to hike all the way up the mountain i had just spend an hour zip-lining down to do it again from another side of the mountain...WOW! Just watch out for hidden exercise is all I'm saying LOL..but, have fun and a 16G card in your camera!!
