Damn that 216.0 again! lol

Some numbers through this journey I have learned to really hate. 216 is one of them. Hopefully today will be the last time I see that s.o.b!

Yesterday's bike ride was divine as I previously stated. So much so I did it again today! Now I am feeling it!

I have been getting up at 5AM for biking. Something I am not accustomed to. This makes for some hardcore naps in the afternoon, almost too good.

Ramadan begins in a week. That means no drinking, eating, smoking, chewing gum, or sex in public, sunup to sundown for 28 days. While there are exceptions for "athletes in training" this is reserved for like the national soccer teams, and not my fat ass riding a bike. So, I am not sure of my biking for the 28 days during Ramadan. I may have to do indoor training. We'll see. I might have an incognito camelbak situation going on!

Ramadan really sucks here. All restaurants shutter from sundown to sunup, all the bars and nightclubs close for the entire month. The malls are packed at night (I dont go at night anyway) and stay open really late. You can go to the mall at midnight or 1AM i hear, and see entire families with little kids out living it up. Basically rather than fast and live in retrospect as the holiday is intended, most people just move their schedule to sleep all day, and live it up all night. Its like a month long slumber party. And any slight sign of productivity that happens here, comes to a screeching halt during Ramadan.

It should be good for my journey as far as diet and calories, just maybe not biking. We'll see. I am sure I can do something, maybe at night only.


Anyway, off to do homework.

Yea, that kent seem like how Ramadan was intended. It doesn't seem reflective at all, does it. Leave it to human nature to put their own spin on everything. Enjoy your rides. I'm happy knowing that you're out riding with me, even with the time zone difference.
