The Blue Box's Journal, 10 July 2012

Ugh, New Employee Orientation yesterday, so I had to eat what everyone else was eating in order to seem "normal". Then I went home and totally gorged myself on everything in sight... And I got my period so I feel HUGE and bloated. Ugh, today is not starting out very well...

My sympathies. That is one horrible day. Sigh! Seems like we're in similar sounding boats. I got negative feedback in an e-mail, which though partially my fault, could have been handled better. (And I can't blame anyone because it had to be done.) Then, there is the flatmate search that is going badly, more like going nowhere. To top it all, I've not been cooking because I'm lazy and I always seem to find myself working (both at office and at home and over the weekends.) To top my misery basket, my company says that they won't give me any increment because my salary is already high as compared to others. The final straw is that there are barely any jobs available for my experience. *******Sorry for the rant but I had to get it out of my system. :( *******

Ohmigosh, please vent away! I hope everything turns around for you! I work with someone who doesn't know how to give advice kindly and she is so hard to work with. As far as the salary, is there a way you can find people in the same line of work as you and use their salary as a basis to get a raise? I know it's really hard to ask for one and then be able to justify it. It seems like the cost of living keeps going up, but our salaries are staying the same. So annoying!

ah, being normal is totally overrated. I get made fun of every day for taking a cooler and having all my meals planned out each day before I leave home, and having alarms go off every 2 1/2 hours for me to eat. I have learned to just laugh at myself about it and go with the flow. 5/6 of the people at work who laugh at me are at least 50+ lbs overweight, but you have to do what works for you. Take pride in the fact you are being healthy and don't be afraid to show it off. If you are doing something good for yourself I say go for it all out!!! P.S. it is much easier if you plan out your entire day rather than just work, I know cause those are the days I over-eat is when I don't plan everything out for the full day. Good luck!!!
