Hermiones Mom's Journal, 25 May 2016

SO I keep eating because I am staying up until 1-2 am working on this grant application and I keep getting hungry. I am not making bad choices -- I mean there was a time when under these circumstances I would have polished off a pint of Ben & Jerry's and maybe a few brownies as a chaser. Now I'm eating carrots and celery and cheddar -- but still the calories add up. Can't wait to finish this project and go back to a normal schedule.

Progress not perfection. Sounds like progress to me. Anytime I DON'T give in to ice cream and brownies is a win!

There are sometimes days where I'm up for MANY MANY hours... I used to calculate my calories from waking moment to waking moment and I suffered... I learned that if I calculated from Midnight to Midnight, I was able to handle it better and much more satisfied.. Maybe, consider, since you're up so late, you do need that energy to burn..

Heard. I've got the work grind + fam grind going now as well. Have found it useful to give myself permission to eat...Somehow removing that prohibition makes whatever path I choose, and its usually not the binge path, OK. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to finish this project today, but losing 3 days last week to the kidney stone adventure was a serious problem. It's going to take quite a while to catch up, and I will lose another 1 1/2 days for the treatment next week...

as you work to find substitutes for that ben and jerrys you will be just fine and start to crave these foods instead .....check a few raw food recipes for flax crackers! lots of filling fibers and good fats and drink a lotta water w these and you will fill up fast!.

bellcurvz -- I'm actually doing fine -- I generally crave berries and citrus when I want something sweet. Most desserts taste too sweet to me now. Still, it's frankly ridiculous to argue that Ben & Jerry's is not delicious, and if I was not so severely lactose intolerant now, I would still be eating my once a week portion of ice cream. Now I have to make it myself, and that's more effort than I can muster this week, Maybe next week.
