Very moody and teary and headachy! I hate feeling useless and helpless and that's how I feel right now! I need to snap out of this.... I think I will put a plan together for a project I've been putting off. I can do it on my laptop using MS Project ... I don't need to be active for that. I just had a huge salad with a chicken leg ... I couldn't finish it!!! Tears rolling down my cheeks ... better get busy before I cry myself a pool!!! Don't know where it came from all of a sudden .... but I am not good at pity pots so off I go!

Jenn, are you approaching your menopause stage? It can start from any where between 45 - 55 years old. If so, that's one of the menopause symptoms. I'm experiencing it right now. It makes your mood swings and usually it makes you feel depressed although there is no reason to feel so. Other symptoms would be: body temperature rises, short temper, spotting (period). If you're experiencing 1 or most of the above, you may want to check with your doctor. I feel so lonely going through this by myself since my husband is not very supportive. He kept saying I'm not gentle and critized me most of the time. With you is different, your husband and sisters are supportive, you can tell them to get the supports for I think it's very tough to fight this alone. I know how terrible this feeling is since I'm suffering from it. Hope you'll find a cure to it from your loved ones.

Wholefood, that's exactly what I did and it took my butt off the pity pot for now. Charging: I am definitely in peri-menopause and have all of the symptoms you mentioned. I am very lucky to have a supportive family. My hubby was so good for my ego recently ... made me laugh. He said you are looking so young and sexy! hahahah .... I haven't been "young" in 20 years but always young at heart! He's been doing all the dishes and housework since I got ill. I really have to remember these times when I get mad at him ... he's a keeper!

awwww, so sweet of DH. Menopause can do a number on your emotions. Hang in there it will get better. I took soy supplements and they helped. Doc put me on hrt regime that I hated and he refused to change it. He was a one size fits all guy. Fired the doc. Did my research and went on my own. Exercise also helps.

Wholefood: That's interesting about the soy supplement ... I will check that out. Bee Pollen helped me but I stopped taking it this summer without any reason ... I need to get back on it. I was planning to start Yoga last week but then I got sick so I will have to wait until I get better. I am hoping to check it out this week and sign up for a one month trial. I am hanging a lot of hope on Yoga because I like the exercise aspects, meditative aspects and challenge it seems to promise. I am not looking for a silver bullet but I've paid so much for gym memberships that went to waste in the past. Time to try something new ... I want to fall in love with it. Stay posted!

Hey Jenn! I am so sorry to hear that you have been so ill. What a crazy thing to get, right? I know those anti-biotic will work, just have to take them and try to keep those probiotics going too. No wonder you got down and out! I remember one of the symptoms of menopause was not sleeping at night. The doctor gave me Ambien or something like that and I finally slept at night but I cried at the drop of a hat and couldn't stop crying. Finally, realized the meds were doing this to me. So ... it could be your meds you have to take that is making you all weepy, too. Just my thoughts. We love ya! Just get yourself better.

Thanks MOM ... the crying was like a freak accident .. know what I mean? Came from nowhere and hit me like a ton of bricks! It was gone once I engaged the brain elsewhere. I hate meds but I know they are sometimes a necessary evil ... like in this case. I am still housebound since Saturday but I see a sliver of light at the end of this tunnel ... I am holding on to that.

The soy supplement helped me sleep, helped the night sweats, hot flashes, and the moods.
