How did you manage to lose 100 lbs in 6 months?

Once I hit rock bottom, and got my head straight, the rest has taken care of itself. In a nutshell, I weigh all of my food and I count calories. Food consisted of everything that the Dr.'s say we should eat. For the first 3 months, I limited myself to 1200 calories a day, and often times less. Once I got into the 260s I upped it to 1500ish, then 1800ishwhen I hit the 240s and then 2000 when I hit the 230s. I ride my mtn bike and do some basic body weight exercises like push ups, dips, pull ups and crunches. I did NOT have any type surgery whatsoever. No supplements other than Mens 1 a Day vitamin and lately BCAA amino acids. I just tried to keep as big of a calorie negative as I could, and turned the hungry feeling into motivation. The hungrier I got, the more weight I knew I was losing. The $12 scale from Amazon was the best tool I have ever purchased.

Now, my challenge is how to maintain my current weight. This week I upped my intake to 2700ish, with a emphasis on protein (150g at minimum), while still eating the veggies, black beans, fruits, oats, ect... I don't want to lose much more as I am happy with the way I feel and look, but I don't really know how many calories I need per day when couple with my exercise. Most calorie calculators say anywhere from 2700 - 3300 so I figured I would start with the lower end, and monitor for a few weeks and adjust as needed. Any advice on how to maintain, is welcome!

We've got a few guys around here who've lost massive amounts of weight, such as yourself. Glad you're here. Cruise the forums. Drag is one of them, along with King Keld, Northernmusician, Rob Weiss, and of course, the ladies also kick it too. I was in maintenance then decided to lose another 6. Like you, I decided I liked where I was, then saw a slight gain and felt I could drop a few more so I could be within my goal range. Keep up the good work.
