baskington's Journal, 16 August 2018

Pretty good day, dropped a pound this morning but I will wait and see if it sticks around. I did not eat enough again yesterday so I am trying to make sure today I get 1400+. Been working out steadily on the new routine on the bowflex. sure does kick my bu##. I raised the weight for my normal workout and did not drop it with the new one. I am lucky to do 2 series of 10 of the 4 new exercises. I did them again this afternoon, much shorter work out.

Going to see the doctor tomarrow to discuss my issues. I think I have something going on with my glandular system. I am freezing in the morning or really any time I am not working. I always feel dehydrated and I drink a ton, it runs right through me. My skin makes me look like a shar pei! I have been losing slowly and I know I will have some excess, but this is getting a little much.

I know she is going to fuss about the urinary track infection I am not taking the antibiotic's she prescribed, but I was having a reaction and told the nurse that unless she prescribes an epi pen in case I have a worst reaction, they can wait. I just hate that I started them and then stopped. This is a cronic problem for me and I felt just fine before she wrote the prescription. After the throat near closing from the shrimp, I am a bit overly protective right now.

Hopefully letting my system calm down will fix a few of these issues. Dealing well with the meat and fat only this week. No symptoms, clear head and feeling much better. Miss my coffee, but the 5 hour energy takes care of the caffeine for me. I don't need a headache from that!

I have had too much every day this week. If I could I’d be happy to donate some of those calories to you lol.

I don’t think there has been a day in my entire 49 years where I can say that I didn’t eat enough!😂 Excess and overindulgence are my middle names!

Ever since I IF fasted for a few days, I have a harder time getting enough calories as I am still not hungry. I have to force myself to eat sometimes. I do like my breakfast though!

Take good care of yourself - I am so hoping that they can give you some definitive answers so you can stop having all these issues or at least get them under control. Way to go on the weight machine - hopefully that will help tighten the skin as well as toning up your muscles.

Take care, you will work it out :) Just a side note, when I first started fasting I had the 'always cold' and 'dehydrated' even though I was drinking a lot of water. The Hi-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate is what made it go away for me. Also, since it appears you have the shellfish allergy like I do, look at the contents of any supplements you may take. For example, most joint supplements use shellfish (who knew?).

Thanks Adef, but I am not fasting anymore. My immune system is just totally out of wack and all food messes with me except the meat and fat. so this is just a cleaning of my system for this month. Hopefully things will settle down been there done that before.

Nikeit, thanks and I had a long discussion about many things with the doc today, 5 more tubes of blood from the lab and several appointments to set up with specialists and ultrasounds. This is a bit over what she has ever dealt with, and I told her we would hold off on the allergist until my system settles down. so many other things to deal with, we got the second test going for the thyroid as she did not do the indepth and with my freezing she needs to look deeper. Same with the growth hormone thingy but I don't think she knew what to do there. Some times it is hard to find someone that has experience in the fibro/yeast/immune flare up, connection type issues. and I appreciate her listening and getting some of the tests done. I will be a learning experience for her. LOL!

I also asked about a blood mineral type test, I don't know if she knew what I was asking, but I told her about the gyno making me take calcium for the osteo and I was concerned with the amount of salt and other minerals being in balance. we will see when I pick up the labs next week.

A good way to find a particular kind of doc is to look at a teaching hospital (if you have one where you live) - their docs are usually pretty up-to-date and they are in so many fields - also a lot of research is done at these hospitals - just in case your doc can't find out what is what - this worked for me - there is an excellent teaching hospital in San Antonio. So sorry about all those tests - they must be exhausting so great job that you are still exercising! Hang in there!

yes I don't think this little town has anything, but I am sure limited as my insurance is not the greatest. I have very limited doctors this year. the insurance is all messed up in florida because of the in and out of Obamacare and new stuff. hope they settle this all soon and things level out. insurance carriers are bailing out

Rick Scott really screwed us not taking the federal funding offered to pick up the slack. I have ACA insurance (obamacare). I think the only option was Floridablue. Luckily my plan is pretty good, better than hubby who has medicare. The trick I found was to change your plan every year, if Florida blue is your insurer. Hopefully things will get better with a new governor. We should not have to stress over healthcare.

now that you mention it, I did feel dehydrated even though I was taking a lot of water. I remember getting up in the middle of the night and putting Burt's Bees on my lips. It took me a little while to figure out that I needed more electrolytes. Previously, I hadn't been reaching for the electrolytes unless I was having a muscle cramp but now I know that even if I'm feeling a little sluggish or low energy, it is likely due to lack of electrolytes.

I invested in Adef's electrolytes and even with that addition in both bottles (half gallon jugs) and a little extra in my cup I still have the problem. it is something internal. This is what has the doctor concerned. I have several glands that are out of wack for their functions, thyroid tends to control the icey cold I am when I am not actively working out. I forget what glad controls the salt/water balance but ADH is the hormone or process that controls that. We had a pretty good talk. I told her all my research and what I thought was going on. Once my immune system is settled down, we can do more indepth look. but we have the cronic infection and other things to look into. my insurance company will go nuts with all the workups coming their way.

Try a 1/2 oz of apple cider vinegar with water over ice.. if you can’t stand the taste add a bit of honey. Drink a glass everyday and your UT should go away. Be warned you will have pee a lot. Good luck

@baskington - Darn sorry it didn't work out :(

it is good stuff, no problem there. I just have other things going on. I just got 3 more bottles. expensive but being clean electrolytes it is worth it.

Jubki I can't handle apple cider vinegar, my immune response but I will keep it in mind for when my system settles down. can't handle any type of vinegar product. bummer as all my hot sauces seem to contain that.
