jasnew27's Journal, 24 May 2018

August 7, 2013 I weighed 350 pounds. I hit my rock-bottom and found a personal trainer to work with and join the gym that he trained out of through hard work at the gym and eating right over the next year and a half I lost 120 pounds and when I hit the magic number of 230 pounds Something went off in my head and I thought I would stay that weight. As time went on I slowly started gaining the weight back. I started going to Graduate School and bought a house and current day I am up 60 pounds. I am having a very hard time finding the motivation to do what I’ve already done and what I know I can do again. Every morning I wake up ready to diet and eat healthy but I always seem to give in. I don’t know why I’m having such a hard time and I can’t believe I let myself gain 60 lbs after I worked so hard to lose it!

So many of us have experienced the disappointment and frustration you're feeling! Part of the readiness to do battle against overweight is "strategy and tactics." You need to choose an eating plan. You must clear the field (your kitchen, your desk at work, your car) of obstacles and booby traps (foods not on your plan),

(Continued!) ... and arm yourself to the teeth with sharpened weapons (a *written* plan of meals at least a day in advance and a shopping list of what you need), and stocking your life with "success" foods. If you just wake up to another day of being sick and tired of being sick and tired, you'll stay sick and tired.

In the past, I lost about 75 pounds the hard way, white-knuckling my way through a low-carb/low-fat (LCLF) diet, hungry and cranky, and then stalled. I've been losing and regaining the same 25 pounds for at least five years and had remained 50-75 pounds from my goal. So, I retooled, researching and prepping my environment using the low-carb high-fat (LCHF) ketogenic diet. I'm into Week 3 of my first foray into the this new world (for me) of eating. It's more satisfying in every way: user-friendly! I highly recommend it!

My journal posts of the last few weeks have links to many great free LCHF/ketotools. Take a look!

I’m trying to post a pic to my profile and I’ve read the comments on how to do it but I don’t see the “my toolbox”.
