Sweeet2th's Journal, 23 December 2014

I'm weighing in here, folks and it looks like I've lost 1.3 lbs in the last 6 weeks or so, but my guess is it's a slight case of dehydration, even though I have two humidifiers going full-tilt 24-hours a day here! Who knew how DRY it is during a Pennsylvania winter? It feels worse than when I lived in the California desert! I easily drink a gallon of water a day, but it's just never enough, especially if I have a sweaty workout that day.

On the weight management front, it feels really good to have maintained my goal weight for the past couple of months, arguably during two of the more challenging months of the year for weight gain! I feel really confident this next year will further solidify my unwavering dedication to permanently kicking my chronic health problems to the curb and living an optimally healthy life.

I couldn't have imagined this time last year how completely different my life is now. I'm pain/disease-free and truly loving and living life to its fullest. This time last year, I was trying so desperately to heal my very sick body, practically dragging myself a mile on a treadmill, dreaming of the life I have now. Now, I'm living the dream and you can too!

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, festive and healthy holiday season!
Kale, Kettlebells and Kisses to you all!

"14 June 2011 So, yesterday was the first day of my company's corporate "Fitness Challenge". About 20 of us signed up for the challenge and we were broken up into two teams. We were weighed and they took a few measurements. I was devastated at the numbers they gave me. I've gained 27 lbs since I stopped going to the gym 3 months ago!! I completely yo-yo'd my way up to 197 lbs and I'm 5'8" and a 36 year-old female. Not a pretty number. Also, I was 37% body fat. That's only 3% from "obese". Also, not a pretty word to utter. All day today, I've been trying to make the right choices. I've been a little depressed all day over the numbers I got last night. It's embarrassing to admit how bad I've let my body get. My hips and lower back hurt everyday. This has been the wake-up call I've needed. I have to do something about my health, starting today. Stay tuned... " Sorry, Couldn't help but look back! Happy Holidays!

Wow. What a reminder of the past. I was feeling pretty lousy back then, and I wasn't even at my fattest or sickest! It's pretty amazing how resilient the human body is when you give it the opportunity to heal and get out of its way! Now, life couldn't be much better! Thanks for the reminder, chadlius. I ended up winning that corporate fitness challenge, by the way! It was a really proud moment for me!

Thanks, everyone! I would be lying if I said it was easy getting to where I am now, but it is so completely worth the effort!

Sweet12th, I feel the same way with the weight and the pain gone!! still have a ways to go on the fitness, at 65 getting there slowly. Can't strap on the running shoes, knees and ankles say no high impact. So do other things.
