John10251's Journal, 14 April 2017

When I logged in today my browser opened the "Featured" member page with all the food porn. I didn't want to be rude so I didn't make any comments. Frankly my Buddies, some people don't have a clue. I'm glad that most of my Buddies are on the right track and I can learn from them. Thanks, boys and girls...

Agreed, stupid concept for those who struggle so desperately with cravings.

99% of the food photos look absolutely disgusting, IMO. Truck driver portions, loaded with carbs and calories. They are textbook pictures of things NOT to eat to become thin and healthy. Plus I find the photo-taking of their meals to be slightly creepy and tacky (like people who hold garage sales with all their personal items on their front lawn). It's one thing to take a photo for tracking reference, quite another to share it with the public.

"Food Porn" seems to be an appropriate name for the "stupid concept" that tends to hurt more than helps. While I can learn from other's mistakes, I learn much better from other's successes. Well done to you for your success!

I have posted a couple of pics myself, but I consider mine within the "healthy" category. Hope mine didn't bother anyone. I don't think all the pics are terrible, but I don't understand the pics of the fast food and processed food=junk. Whether you are at goal weight or not, junk shouldn't be promoted here via pics. Between the pics of the junk and pics that have nothing to do with health/weight loss it's about to drive me nuts. LOL!

I don't mind people putting food pics in their journals, but I think it's a bad idea by FS to give them prominence in the Featured posts. It's just too much! I'd prefer it back as it was.
