Hey John, what if you plan your foods for the day, enter them and stick to them. Do you think this would work?

I find maintenance is very difficult, I have been away from Fatsecret for some time and so discouraged with myself, lost a ton of weight and thought oh great now I can eat whatever in moderation....NOT....the pounds sneak back on and its so discouraging... I am starting again and with more willpower than ever... I am a sure example that you can't go back... EVER... this time I will make it...not quite put it all back on but came short of 15 lbs. now I have to work hard...Ugh!

How true your words are Phil 220: I learned that lesson the hard way... Now I stay faithful to the plan 110%...no going back there it is too disheartening.. :)

I agree guys, diet is important. I believe it's true that one can not outrun the fork. But I can testify that activity can help one keep up with it...

At some point, you just have to make peace withe the fact that the word "diet" refers to what and how you eat. It's not *just* a weight loss plan, it's a way of life. You can choose a healthy lifestyle, or an unhealthy one, but you can't be successful switching back an forth. I think it was Einstein who said that you can't solve a problem with the same mindset that created the problem.

These words belong in the BIBLE.

I got too confident and lax with maintenance, hence gaining 50 lbs back. You got this!

I have paid great attention to the comments of others regarding maintenance. Many of us who have made it to maintenance have had setbacks. It's not easy. I sometimes feel guilty mentioning struggling with maintenance. I know that some folk that are early in their weight loss journey probably think that we who are in maintenance mode have little to be concerned about. Not true, we need Fat Secret too...

Agreed John!! It is always a mindful balancing act between living a real life with all that means and being obsessive/compulsive about our intake and weight. I have watched you successfully maintain within a nice small window around your set weight for many months now...you do know what to do.

I second that for sure. Maintaining is hard and it is scary.

Maintenance can be harder, seems odd that it would be, but relaxing a bit is all it takes for the weight to start to creep back up. But.... you are doing good John.
