Has anyone here done cross fit at the weight I am? Everyone at this gym is ripped and in good shape and I'm very intimidated by the thought of going in, being the biggest person and not being able to keep up.

I would say that if you check with your doctor and you get the go ahead you should go for it. Also, maybe you could call the cross fit place and ask if there is a coach you could have so you don't hurt yourself right off, and get delayed in your exercising efforts . Also have you tried Zumba? there is a lot of supportive great women that go there and it is a lot of fun too!

I actually did already talk to the cross fit place I want to join and they said they have beginners training they'd start me with and could take into account any reasons I may not be able to do certain things (ex I can't do high impact because I severely injured my ankle in middle school and it is easy to reinjure if I'm not careful). I'm thinking of going in and talking to someone in person to see what I would be looking at

Hey - have you considered Orange Theory Fitness? It is a great workout class that has trainers, and can be tailored to go at your own pace. I lost weight and built strength. I do not know where you love but you can go to their main website and type in your state to see the closest club. www.orangetheoryfitness.com

I know some crossfitters & if you get a coach who knows what they're doing, you should be fine. even though they all look mean, most people will be welcoming and encouraging.
