On May 1st i started using the Wii Fit again after several years. I had faithfully used it, doing the exercises, recording my weight, BMI, etc., in 2009. I lost from around 190 to 179, and was feeling pretty good. My youngest son died of a prescription drug overdose at just barely 48(his birthday was Sept 29th and he died on Nov 5th). Needless to say, i was devastated, and i didn't care much about anything for quite awhile. I stopped using the Wii (until this month), and i gained up to 205 (my highest weight. I am no good at following diets, no matter how hard i try. I have Silver Slippers (i just turned 76 May 19th), and can go to the gym for free; but i had shoulder surgery last Aug, and i need surgery on my right knee, which i am putting off. I also have degenerative disk disease, and resulting scoliosis, and have a lot of back pain, so can't do too many of the typical exercises. I have found that i can do some of the Wii exercises, and do a lot of the ones that involve just stepping on and off of the Wii Balance Board, doing balance exercises, and memory exercises. It has lots of yoga exercises, which i know are very good for you, but i just can't do them. In addition to using the Wii, i have also been doing a little yard work. I planted my garden (late this year, due to the weather), and have been doing some weed eating, which i know is good exercise, too. I can't do anything for very long at a time, though, and have to rest my back by sitting down, or leaning against something. But then i get right back to it. When i started using the Wii this time i was 193 pounds. I have been going up and down a little, but am slowly losing more than i am gaining. The Wii considers me "obese" (i hate that word), but i was so excited when i went down to 189 the other day and it said i was "overweight"! I was so happy to be overweight! But then, my daughter took me to Red Lobster for a late birthday dinner (shrimp, lobster, scallops, and mussels ~ i love seafood), and although i weighed even a bit less the following day, which surprised me, the next day it showed up, and this morning i weighed 190.5 again. I am determined this time to get down to my goal, no matter how long it takes. I know now that i CAN do it!

I hate the little tune that the Wii plays for obese. The overweight tune is not much better, but I know the feeling when it goes from "obese" to overweight! I think Red Lobster food is so very salty; maybe it's just water weight? You are going to make your goal!!
