Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 29 March 2017

I ripped my pants open today. I was getting into the SUV and my right butt cheek felt slightly cooler on the leather seats than the left butt cheek. Yup... totally ripped the butt or lower thigh right open. I seriously need to lose more weight. I refuse to buy any more jeans above a 16 so I sewed those puppies right up. Yup.. I'm wearing jeans sewed up in the butt. It does tend to add an odd feeling to walking around and now my right cheek feels more supported than the left but I'm holding firm. No more pants unless they are smaller and cuter looking. Yes I'm probably 2 eggs short of a dozen.

Today I'm running the teenager to dentist apts and working from home so I'm going to get an extra long workout in just so I don't start obsessing about my butt and thigh rub. Ok I will totally still obsess but obsession is also motivation right??

I finally went out and bought new pants. I wanted to wait to lose a bit more but the ones I had were so big I didn't need to unzip them to get them off. If I knew how to sew, I wold have taken them in at the seams to last a bit longer. And yes, obsession is motivation. Kind of!

Hahaha... nice motivation! A friend of mine that I worked with wanted to go put in an application elsewhere after work once but ripped the backside/thigh area of her jeans. She comes up and says, "Can you tell my jeans ripped?" I laughed because I thought she was joking around. She had about a six inch rip in them, from in between her legs all the way under her butt cheek. When I realized she was serious, I had to inform her that she now had built in air conditioning and took a picture for her. She realized then why I was laughing. Needless to say, she did not go apply that day after work. She gets all of her jeans at the Goodwill, so she got new ones for $3 the next day instead.

Ripped pants at work is the pits, and safety pins are dangerous! I always keep needle and thread in my desk drawer in case of emergencies. :)

Is it worse when it is biking shorts and the tears are caused by road rash and your friend continues to wear them holes and all. He is also a strong rider who I draft off off.

Earlier this week, I pulled out some sandals I had not worn since last summer, put them on, and headed off to my meeting. As I was crossing the parking lot to the building, my left foot felt funny and I realized my shoe was self-destructing. I walked barefoot to the door, slipping my shoes on at the last minute. I had to throw those shoes away--no sewing those puppies back together! Maybe I my feet are getting fatter...:)
