Funny, the revolving door of this site. We all wonder, where did this, or that person go, and then NEW people come in like a tsunami. There is a memorial on the "Big Island" for elementary school victims of a tsunami. Native Hawaiians, were upset, that Hawaiian statues were facing backs to the ocean. I will show the Duke statue. A sign of disrespect for the ocean. I heard a flatlander, today make a awful Nazi, comment about native Hawaiians. No wonder they hate us. I will show my breakfast also. Excuse me for not having a scale, and wandering away from topics, but until they chase me. I guess I will continue. Happy dieting to ALL!

AHI FISH STEAK, EGGS, AND PANCAKES!

KAILUA, SORRY LULANI, HARD TO TAKE PICS DRIVING!

Oh that turtle - what a beautiful picture! I often have to look up the words you use on Google - lol! Today it was "flatlander" 😊

Oh Doobrie, I am going to be thinking about you soon. Islanders call visitors, flatlanders, or mainlanders. I do feel sorry for native Hawaiians. Guess what, though. They lease their land here in which I am a small, part owner. I lease the land from them. It is called a "leasehold" versus "fee simple".

Funny, this trip I found out, I have a new lease until 2030 or more. The timeshare paid my lease. I guess?

I also first played football here, in the stadium before the one pictured. We called it "The Chicken Coop" because it was made with chicken wire. The funny thing was, after the game, the fans came to the locker room door, and could see us taking showers. It was so weird of a place to play. Our coach told us, if we won we would be dropped off for the night in Waikiki. Our famous, running back scored a NCAA record for touchdowns, 4. His name was Terry Metcalf. They called him, "The Franchise" in St. Louis.

The pictured player is Terry Metcalf, and he had his son, while he was on our team. (pictured)His son became as famous football player as him. His son's name is Eric Metcalf.

Hi Warren. WOW! Those photos bring back memories of my visit to Hawaii a few years ago. I stayed in Waikiki for a few days before island hopping and did quite a lot of diving as well as some of the usual sight seeing (Mauna Kea night visits, Haleakala volcanic park, Pearl Harbour, Lahaina, etc, etc). One of my best dives was in a submerged caldera with octopus and turtles. It was a magical visit and I spent my birthday there

Are you on the big island now? I love shopping in Kona. There is a shop there that sells handcrafted earrings which I love. I am going to stock up in January.

Aloha Warren, thanks for all the pics....I used to love Mahi-mahi and eggs for breakfast! Or better yet, sea bass jook in chinatown, at a tiny hole-in-the wall mom and pop shop! They used to really love us, practically the only hoales who ate there :)!

Hi and thanks all! Jmb, no I couldn't take a pic like that one. Maybe not even Hawaii! lol No still here for the entire trip. We leave on the 9th, I believe. Lulani I will get back to Kailua and take better pics. The Pali on H3 is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The rain makes it magnificent there.

Funny, they have no pullouts on H3, for pictures, because they would be swamped. Amazing how they drilled that long tunnel, directly through the Pali.

Phooka, I got my dive license in Kona. I thought it was the best volcanic tube diving on earth. My first dive they take me in a lava tube room, and there is a group of sharks, that when I block the exit door of the room, they panic and come right through my diving mask. I survived, but my divemaster gave me a BIG high five on that one. Scared the crap out of him too.
