Today will be the start to a long journey to healthy living. I have allowed myself to become out of control. I need to change for the sake of my son. I can't have him following my steps, and bad habits. I can do it this because it's for me first. It took me 34 come this November to get to the weight that I'm at. It wont disappear tomorrow, although that is my dream. I have to condition my mind and my body to change and that change starts mentally then physically.. I'm on the right path. I can do this! I can do this! I started before but not for me I started because a friend was dieting so I only did it for her. I'm now doing this for me. no on can do this for me. change starts and end with me. LET's DO THIS!

You are starting with the right attitude which is a good start. We all wish for that "magic bullet" that would enable us to lose the excess weight overnight, but slow and steady is really the way to go. You will get lots of support here if you need it. One big help is to log everything you eat so that you can see what you are doing right, as well as any places you need to be careful. Onward and d o downward!!!!

This is a great community. These folks have pulled me up when I was low, and given me great insights and advice, encouragement and sometimes a swift kick in the butt! I agree with Pandasmom...log everything, keep yourself informed and accountable, And let the community support you. Welcome aboard!

Welcome! Pandasmom and Kes are both right. You'll have all the help and support you want here. It took all of us a long time to gain the weight and changing long time habits can be hard, but you have great motivation so good luck.
