cathytobias's Journal, 26 August 2016

I have finally lost all the weight I gained when I had company! Whew they were here 7 weeks and I gained 12 pds! I kept falling off the wagon and finally after buckling down I'm at this weight. I am working towards really getting on it now! The sugar and white stuff felt like I was gonna die so so so hard! But I'm day 4 stricked. I did cheat a lil but here's the thing.
No excuse mind you, but I got spring retainers Wed. and it's hard to eat yesterday and wow today! I have never had braces but OMG!!!!!
It's really painful because I only am allowed to take them out to eat and because they are so tight and the wires diggin in that I dread taking them out!
So when I was eating small here and there I am only wanting to eat 1x time a day or like today 2x.
So I figure at least I'll loose some more weight!
My blood sugar has been doing well so I am gonna see if I can dose down more!
Thanks guys for letting me vent

If they really hurt, rinse with straight whiskey to numb the pain. You can spit it out afterwards, but if you have room for the calories to swallow it instead, that will help with the pain too. I'm not kidding--I had full metal band braces at a bit older age than usual, when teeth are more solidly in place. I did the whiskey thing when it was bad after they were tightened, until eventually the orthodontist gave me codeine.

Lol I thought about the whiskey for real! and the clove oil but I think I'll try kanka as some one says that works real good and leaves a lil coating so it guards my cheeks to. My inside of my cheeks hurt from the wire rubbing and pushing metal in there. Who would have thought a spring retainer would hurt so much!

Great job on that loss. It is tough when your environment, and circumstances change. That is good you have gotten back.
