notelaine's Journal, 01 December 2015

Man I am struggling to stay on track. I'm not gaining, but I'm not losing either. It's just been so easy to lose focus lately. My job is just insane, and I'm travelling again next week to a conference in New York. I do not do well with food when I travel.

And of course the holidays don't help much either, and I've started seeing a new guy over the past few weeks which means more meals and drinks out.

Luckily my gym is starting another challenge though! And it requires me to turn in food journals every Friday, so that forces me to be back on track. Really want to hit 180 by my birthday in early February.

New diet plan involves less than 75 grams of net carbs, at least 160 g of protein and under 1600 cals/day. I do much better when I have goals to eat to, so I'm feeling good about this!

Keeping a complete food journal for your gym challenge should help. For me it's critical that I log my food, it keeps me on track and accountable to myself and provides goals to shoot for. Wishing you success!

I know that it is difficult to eat right while traveling. what has helped me is preparing my food prior to traveling. I prefer the easy way out by packing plenty of Protein Bars, Nuts and Seeds and Fruit. I try to stay ahead of the hunger demand If I can by eating healthy snacks.

Eating out is always a challenge. Just do the best you can and try to watch your calories. Good luck and have fun.

If restaurant meals are your challenge when traveling to NY, I would suggest finding a restaurant with the cuisine you adore and eat there. Check out menupages.com and plan your meal. With an upcoming "treat" you will plan so that you can find the focus. If you can manage it take a class. New York Sports Clubs are ubiquitous. Have your hotel concierge find one near your hotel and take an early morning class.
