Yesterday, my husband and I went to the city to pick up some things he had ordered and then we went out for dinner. I didn't stay on my diet 100% but I was very careful and reserved.

Maintaining control is a big thing for me. I ordered blackened broiled fish. It came with steamed veggies on the side and rice. I didn't eat the rice. We also had an appetizer that was low carb and I had a few bites to taste it but left it at that. I could have eaten the entire thing.

The cheat for me was to try my husband's breaded shrimp. The rest of the day, I was able to get my water in as planned. I didn't drop anything yesterday but I didn't gain either so I consider that a victory.

I am back to the entire plan today. All my food is in the fridge and ready whenever I cook it. There are still lots of fresh veggies in my garden to choose from.

On the way home, we stopped at one of the orchards and my husband bought his favorite apples. I can stay away from those with no problem unless I turn them into a pie. Then there'll be trouble.

I am thankful for the great relaxing day we spent together. I am always sort of sad to see August come to an end here in NE Iowa but fall and winter do hold lots of things to look forward to. Winter weather, however, is NOT one of them.

Ekkk - I am in Minneapolis so I totally agree that Fall has some nice things but the Winter will follow and I also do NOT look forward to it.
