I know that my goal of 29 pounds isn't a lot, and I've come a long way from my 180 plus pounds, but the last few pounds is still important. I've always struggled with self esteem and continue to see myself as "fat." I know that no matter how thin I am, I still have to change the way I see MYSELF and not just my body. I guess my real goal should be to be able to see my beauty and not just numbers on a scale.
156.0 lb Lost so far: 3.0 lb.    Still to go: 26.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 7.0 lb a week

Very very well said. I too am struggling here. There are a lot of people around me saying "you can't lose anymore weight"...but I know where the fat still is and what still needs to be done. And I know a lot of it is my mentality. So I work on it all!

I have to work on that everyday. It is a struggle to move past how I see myself.

I think you're on to something important there - our sense of self or "body image" has to catch up with our actual size after a change in weight. It's sure to come as you maintain your new, lighter weight.

My best friend and I used to discuss that often. For the last 20 years of her life she struggled to lose between five and ten pounds, while I had over 150. Her struggle was has hard as mine, maybe harder because her closeness to goal meant she needed to eat even less to lose the same amount as I. I always seemed to lose between 50 and 60 pounds before falling of the weight wagon and regaining it and more. During all that time she remained with her 5 - 10lbs. Never gaining more than that. I bounced all over the place. She used to feel bad because she couldn't lose as much as I. I always felt her lose was much harder than mine, so remember: The amount you have to lose is the same difficulty as we morbidly obese people. We all need to lose and remember that the rest of our lives require dedication to ourselves. Good luck on your journey. Kathryn
