So I decided to help subside my all out cheat days that happen every week...I feel instead of limiting my fruit intake to the point of almost no fruit at all.. I will leave fruit in my diet for replacing a cheat meal. I think I cheat often because either I am not getting enough carbs to fuel my workouts or I think I am depriving myself by just eating veggies and meat strictly.
For now when I am tempted to eat anything like pasta, cookies, anything sugar. I will turn to some fruit as an alternative. I want to give this try. Specially at night time when I want to snack. or I see m BF go for ice cream..I can grab a cup of pineapples, or berries.

Are you doing straight Paleo or low carb high fat? (LCHf) If you increase the healthy fats while doing lower carb, eventually your body will transition to burning body fat for your energy instead of glucose from your carbs. I have tons of energy off the fats...

I am gearing towards low carb high fat paleo because I want fatloss. I woul dlike to be fat adapted again. I used to be fat adapted before the holidays =( I still want to limit my fruit for cravings only. But still keep below 50g. I think 50g will still transition me to fat burning

I agree with HCB. If you're following Paleo you should be adding healthy saturated fats rather than fruit. Your idea of fruit as a treat is great but your hunger is likely related to low-fat rather than low-sugar.

I love the Italian custom of bringing out fruit at the end of a meal. That's their dessert. I love tropical fruits but the sugar is too high for a low carber. Panigale1199, my recommendation is to go for the berries and whip up 2 TBs heavy cream with sweetener. That's my dessert these days.

Good point mcarthey. I do add extra bacon fat to my eggs in the AM. I add coconut oil to my coffee and tea. Maybe I am not eating enough as well as adding enough fat. I haven't been meal prepping well lately. Since I have work off Friday I am going to pick some meals to make in bulk and prep for next week. No more excuses.
@ Catolita- I wish America was like that! No wonder Europe is so thin. I like the idea of my treat being some homemade whip cream and some berries. That will avoid me eating ice cream or cookies.
