Maybe you had something with high sodium making you retain water? Don't fret, if you are doing the right thing it will take care of itself. Drink lots of water, and eat spring mix (the dandelion helps rid extra water) :)

Have you thought about consulting a doctor, and maybe having your thyroid checked? (If you haven't already.) It doesn't make sense your body would be doing that, so maybe there is something else besides diet and exercise at play with your weight.

Be more consistent tracking your food as well, you might be consuming more calories than you think.

I had a possible issue with my Thyroid when I was pregnant, but it has been tested twice since then and nothing looks suspicious. I think it might be hormones, but I haven't confirmed anything yet.

Muscle weighs more than fat so even if you are swapping fat for muscle you may in fact gain weight initially. Non-scale victories are really just as important as seeing the numbers change. Unless you are on an incredibly high intensity workout program, you may not see immediate results on the scale. It's important to stay motivated and keep at it despite the numbers on the scale!
