Lindart's Journal, 23 October 2016

Last night a lovely night, everything was perfect! For my App I had seared scallops (3 small) on a leek & brown butter puree, with bacon jam on top of the scallops and pine nuts carefully added to the puree around the 3 scallops (there were about 6)-awesome! The puree was so good! Then I had Pork Tenderloin on a maple butternut squash puree with fingerling potatoes, kale, and dried cranberries with pomegranate reduction lightly suqirted in a circle around the whole plate - really good as well. My hubby had steak with gnocchi on a white bean puree which was awesome! (we do a lot of trading food!)For dessert we shared a Quadruple Chocolate Cheesecake - milk & white chocolate cheesecake with a dark chocolate ganache top and a chocolate crumb base, with raspberry coulis, and coffee. It sounds like a lot of food, but it wasn't, it was just extremely good food!

Sounds like a Faturday, not the daily lifestyle. I do this type of eating once a month, and only 3 bites of each thing.

I like that you replaced quantity with quality. I believe that's what Europeans do--eat smaller quantities of intensely good food that they can savor and fully enjoy without it becoming a weight issue. Happy Anniversary!

Thank you for all of you who are supportive, this is a support group after all. I have been on FS for 6 years, during that time I started with low-carb, and obsessed about it until it drove all my family members crazy. I did lose a lot of weight until it just stopped - for a long time, and I got discouraged, as we do, and went off, and gained most of it back. It's life. It happens. But I got back on the horse, so to speak, and decided not to obsess this time. I do eat healthy every day, I choose fresh over boxed, I rarely buy processed food, and I cook my own meals most of the time. I am 62 years old, I don't need to fit into a bikini, I just want to feel healthy, and that's what I'm doing. I'm also losing weight, 15 pounds since August. So, thisbeOliver, with "LOVE" as your photo, chill. Peace and love. Good luck on your journey, I wish you well.

Lindart - So sorry you got trolled. Looks like that's been scrubbed out, so peace reigns again. Most of us have lost and gained it back before. The fact is that you are here now an we are all doing our best to live healthy lives. May you walk in peace and health!

I started Atkins in 2005 and went from 480 pounds down to 280 pounds by May of 2006. Less than six months later I was back up to 370. Sucks, but it happens. Chapter 19 of Atkins NDR; "One of the reasons people sometimes get in trouble on a maintenance diet is because they fail to realize just how strict a maintenance diet still must be." That's why Fat Secret is so valuable, especially to people that have reached their goals, that false sense of security thinking, "I made it, wooot wooot!!", can easily be the beginning of a downward spiral back to fat. Ugh. Back to fat, shudder the thought!

I lost 70 lbs. twice. I groan to think about it. I've just now passed that mark, and am continuing to lose past it, looking to lose another 50 or so. Currently at a weight that I haven't seen since B.C. (before children) 35 years ago!
