Colette125's Journal, 08 July 2012

In addition to my blood sugar regulation, I'm going to be adjusting to treatment for my underactive thyroid over the coming months. The good news is that even with a compromised metabolism I've still lost 9 pounds this year. Today I took my first thyroid pill (it's something I'll be taking the rest of my life) so I may get more bang from my exercise buck from now on. Add my good intentions of going with the South Beach formula and I feel like my stagnation in weight loss will be a lot easier.

Before I start the very strict 2-week "Phase 1" of South Beach, I feel like I need to have all of my menues for the 14 days planned. It's not rocket science, but it isn't something you can cobble together from what you've got in your cupboard.

Eight pounds to go! This should be a piece of flour-free, sugar-free cake.

You can truly do amazing things with SB! Believe it or not, most doctors other than my own don't even believe this, but I was on thyroid pills and blood pressure pills for over a year and using SB I was taken off both! Thyroids don't just heal themselves, my doctor and others told me that, so we can't explain how it happened. But the truth of the matter is my thyroid was low and was checked several times through the course of my medication and after I lost weight and ate right I was taken off blood pressure pills then my thyroid was better too. I've been tested several times since and my thyroid test good every time. Honestly, I wouldnt plan on your thyroid healing but my point is that eating the SB way can heal your body in many ways! I'm re-starting after several years now, today on phase 1. So I'll be joining you. Menu planning is key! Go get 'em!
