ycruz99's Journal, 30 April 2018

Today was a break down moment for me. I've learned to not put so much emphasis on the weekly weigh in and I've broken it down to monthly, so I can see a bigger effect on progress. I work out 4 to 5 times a week either walking or mat workouts, my goal is 8000 steps a day and I eat around 1400 calories a day. Yesterday I was in a bad place and just opted to jump back on the wagon on Monday. Last I had checked 6 days ago, I was 6lbs down for the month. Low and behold, I get on the scale this morning, and I'm back up to my beginning of the month weight. WTF.... I'm devastated. I had seen it creeping back up throughout the week, but surely it was water weight. You mean 1 bad day of eating counteracts all of the exercise and eating right that I did ALL month. :( It can't be this hard. This is my second month with no loss :( My husband is effortlessly in shape and lives off fast food and gummy bears, so I can't bear to vent to him about my struggle again, so here I am. I can only keep trying.

I dont think you gained all 6 poumds back in a day. Each pound is 3500 cal which is a lot of food! Drink a lot of water to flush out the system and in a few days you will see your real gain. Hang in there! I lost and gained the same 5 pounds 3x this month so I totally get your frustration. But don't give up!

Ive been there!!! Mine goes up and down until finally it stays on the lower number. I am actually trying a different approach to my diet after 3 long months of working my A** off at the gym. I was very low calorie and lots of exercise and wasn't moving off my number at all! Now I am trying low carb and higher fat intake. Sometimes a change helps. Everyone is different. Hang in there.

Wow I can also relate. Menopause makes life even harder. And a recent breakup, well, life is just impossible right now. And to top it of my fridge broke over the weekend. The freezer works a little, the fridge at all. I live rented, and right now the owners are ignoring Me this issue. Tomorrow I am busy. I am living out of sacks of ice, and eating junk food all weekend. Probably gained more pounds, eating cheese and crackers, chocolate, grilled cheese sandwiches and cookies. I am so angry. A naturally thin person would probably eaten oranges, apples and water. Not me of course. I am tired of this. Tomorrow I am heading to a bariatric doctor, begin her program, also begin my fat secret challenge and pray, pray pray pray that I will be up for this and lose 65 pounds.

I understand too. honestly to lose weight healthy on average is 2lb a wk. I lost 5lbs in a month n feel bad like I should've lost more. Remember though the faster we lose weight the quicker we gain it. R u keeping track of ur food?

That happens to me too! Especially if I over do it on the sodium. It’s super annoying and frustrating! It’s most likely just water weight. Stay hydrated, maybe find a good detox water recipe? It will come off. That weight gain would be equivalent to about 21,000 extra calories, that would be incredibly difficult to do in 1 day. Keep us posted :)

you are doing better than you realize. remember a lot of things can effect the scale. focus just as much on how you feel both mentally and physically... as you do on the scale numbers. also remember muscle weighs more than fat. is it possible with better eating and exercise you've gained some more muscle tone?

Sorry to hear of your recent slowing of progress. Don't be discouraged however, as women's hormonal balance or lack thereof may cause a temporary setback from time to time. Continue to stay focused and work your plan ---adjust as often as necessary to find the proper guidelines which work for you body. Sometimes training frequency (too much or too little may cause a plateau), make adjustments from time to time on exercise frequency, type of exercises (mix them up) in order to shock the system into performing differently, and continue to eat properly along with proper hydration. The weight should begin to come off even if at a slower rate. While I do not recommend performing this method often ----> assuming no medical conditions exist --->once in a while you can take increase your fiber intake and use a glass of water and mix with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.... Without sounding gross ---the process will naturally cleanse your body of toxins and clear the bowel and intestinal track. As a result it may periodically assist in your loss of weight. But for safety reasons this should only be performed once in great while and not in excess. Keep us apprised of your situation and God Bless !
