Jo3's Journal, 04 July 2012

Hey all chest pain update, so last night i got all het up and ended up having what i can only describe as a panic attack i couldn't get my breath and i had a pain shooting down my left arm, it really was unpleasant, so today i went to see the doctor to discuss this. Anyway he did a heart trace ecg whilst i was there and i had to wait for the results he said that it looked ok but he still wants me to go and run on a treadmill to check my heart is ok, he said he is more reassured now the ecg looks ok that it isn't my heart, my blood pressure which is usually 116 over 70 was up at 148 over 90 although it was raised for me he said that this was within the realms of being ok, he said to carry on taking the painkillers for now until things settle down and has assured me that they will do me no harm as i am taking them as prescribed. Discussed anxiety and he said that once we have eliminated the heart, i must go and see him again and we will discuss the next course of action for stress/anxiety which he said could be medication or therapy whatever we think appropriate, he asked if i was feeling stressed so i said i have dh who is away at work a lot 11 year old who has hit puberty and a 4 year old he said i had my handsfull and should think about ways of relieving stress, i suggested he babysat or took me out for a meal which we both laughed at. Discussed my diet with him also and he said that it was good, still got pain in chest but am feeling much better that nothing bad came up on heart trace, treadmill thing will be in the next week or so. Anyway enough of all that grim stuff, diet been going very well this week again had some good food choices i think, so hopefully a loss this week, try and catch up later with you all. xx

One of the men who work with me here had incredible chest pains a few months ago - he thought he was having a heart attack, but it turned out to be a virus that was effecting the lining of his heart (it is like the heart version of Pleurisy which is when you get inflammation of the lining of your lungs - I can't remember what it is called). But he was just really fortunate that they had a switched on doctor in the a&e that recognised it. Might just be worth mentioning to your doc??

Hey Jo... Just catching up with your journal after visiting nan and grandad.... Your doctor sounds on the ball, you have had a lot on. It is not easy dealing with 2 kids while C is always late or away.... Plus you are a long way from your family... And I know you worry about nan and grandad, us and little sis.... Maybe time to regroup and think about yourself x

Hey mummy, c finished early tonight so was home for 6pm also has had a word with work to say that if needed he may take time out so he can give me a break, he has also phoned his mum and said to give me a wide birth for a couple of days she was ok with this so can relax now:-) Pain in my arm has come back again and chest is pounding a bit but other than that things seem to be ok, going to bed early tonight and think c is going to give me a shoulder rub mmmm a girl could get used to this , hope nan and grandad were well. Tea was good tonight i did 2 sausages with sweet potato, butternut squash and leeks served with green beans. Tomorrow i am doing chicken shake and bake with carrots leeks and parsnips with a dollop of horseradish mash, very organised.
