My normal inclination is to eat a high-fat diet. I have my doubts about the ketone diet, but if it works, I will probably do it naturally. Everything I like is high-fat. My favorite foods are milk, ice cream, cheese, yogurt, avocados, bacon, nuts, and chocolate. The hardest thing for me is to get protein because I often do not have a nice meat just lying in the frig ready to be eaten. I don't like to cook, so making recipes is a chore I try to avoid. I like grabby food; that's how I like to eat - grab a big, fresh avocado, a small plate, and some Italian dressing to dip it in, then peel and eat! No cooking, few dishes, little clean-up. I like fruit, but I don't like cold stuff touching my lips. I found that if I heat up a piece of cold fruit in the microwave for a moment, it is better and less irritating to eat. Veggies are okay, but most have little taste. It may be because I buy in the grocery store where they were picked unripe and shipped. We have a farmer's market, but it's not convenient to my house. I am lazy and will not go out of my way to drive to a farmer's market or co-op. Counting calories is not too hard for me. Luckily, I am not one of those people who thinks about food all the time. I don't think about it until I start to get really hungry. Then I mostly just want to get myself unhungry, but as long as the food does that, I'm cool with it. I like to eat close to nature - a handful of nuts and some almond milk. Quick, easy, nutritious. Being lactose intolerant helps me to keep my weight down as there are many foods I can't eat without becoming sick. I gained a lot when I was taking care of my aging father because he required three cooked meals a day plus snacks. He passed in December, so now I cook zero to two meals per day. We eat out a lot. I really like Fat Secret even though I don't do the ketone diet. I am excited to see how well it works for others.

You sound a lot like me! I would love to eat a high fat diet, but my doctor said it's best for me to eat low fat because of some health issues. He also said to avoid dairy and I've been trying but miss the skim milk which is a good source of protein for me. Like you, I am not crazy about cooking and have a hard time getting enough protein. I do eat lots of avocado and nuts! Love to mix chopped almonds with avocado. But I also love carbs. Just waiting for some study to prove that a high carb, high fat protein is healthy! But not holding my breath for that. Sorry to hear about your father. I lost my dad in 2016 and I started gaining weight when his health was declining.

I know for me once I eliminated certain things in my diet my tastes for things changed a lot. My cravings are next to none now. It takes a little time but it gets easier.
