This afternoon turned into a small cooking session. I had veggies in the fridge that I had to cook or they were going to turn. So, I made coleslaw, then steamed some asparagus followed by a quick veggie stir fry with peppers and onions, broccoli, etc. I didn’t take pictures of those, my phone was charging. I had to send Frank out for wine for the mushrooms, (and for him!), so I steamed the green beans while I waited and prepped the mushrooms. Whole caps in butter and wine to be served as a side dish to whatever meat we are having the next day or two. TIP: If you haven’t discovered these Ziploc ZIP N’ STEAM cooking bags, look for them in your supermarket and give them a try. They cook veggies quickly and to perfection in your microwave, steaming them with simply the moisture contained in the veggies themselves. It maintains their nutritional value too. HAPPY COOKING!
