I've been reading stuff online again...

I need some answers about blood pressure. Most of the stuff online is about the drugs to treat it! Doctors are quick to prescribe those drugs. Since giving up caffeine last month, my blood pressure plummeted, but it is not too consistent. Mostly, the diastolic stays between 68 and 75, but the systolic swings wildly up to 178, then down to 109. I seldom fit neatly into any of the charts. Is this affected by time of day and activity level? I try to take it first thing in the morning, but often I find myself doing something else first. Today, I made myself Vanilla Latte and washed dishes first. My reading was 143/66. The low number is pretty close to too low, but the high number is getting close to too high.

If I were desperate, I would go to a doctor. I'm just wondering if someone knows anything more than the "clear as mud" people online.

I don't have an answer, the environments plays a part in my readings if I was stress or ill the numbers would rise. Since getting off bp meds its always been around the same normal reading. I attribute that to weight loss. Good luck Moogie!

this is Bunny.....you are borderline high, not too bad. I would try limiting salt intake. you probably have some fluid on board that is making you BP a little high. No table salt, and stay away from canned soups and high sodium foods. Good luck!

Moogie, You may not know Bunny but l ask her to review certain pleads for help. Bunny has 48yrs as an RN and has her bachelor's and master's in medicine..why she didn't become a dr.is beyond me.

Watch Dr Bergman’s YouTube’s on blood pressure and you won’t be so worried. It’s supposed to fluctuate to deliver oxygen to your system. If you don’t regulate potassium and sodium and magnesium well, drink a lot of water and pee out your minerals, it can cause BP Fluctuations too. It’s a balance and you have to log systematically, consistently, and keep to a regular schedule. Then you can see how food, salts, sleep, and water effect your BP and BS. I’m doing it too. Watch YouTube vids on circadian rhythm and melatonin. That might resonate.
