I am leaving to get a facial - my reward for hard work on my weight loss! I do not use food as "reward" - this way I disconnect from any emotional bond with food!

I am SO with you on this! You know, "Do not reward yourself with food. You are not a dog." I have to make a conscious effort on this also! So my reward is a Massage Envy membership (once a month massage), so long as I am exercising 5 days/week and sticking to my diet, ~1500kcal/day. Right now my June average is 1530, so I'm feeling pretty good about that, and I got my massage (third reward so far) today. It's nice to set up the reward so that it is a reward for the hard work you put IN, rather than a reward for whatever the scale says. You don't control the scale... indirectly, but not exactly. We all go up and down with TOM, water retention, etc. So GOOD FOR YOU for recognizing your hard work and continuing to motivate yourself to keep going. (-:

Great idea to remove food from your well designed reward system. Hope you enjoyed the spa time. You deserve a treat. The INTRINSIC rewards far outweigh the externals for me personally. The way I feel inside after I know I have done what is right & good & healthy for my body seems immeasurable. The "secret" part of Fat Secret is the part on which we can not place a scale number or stationary bike mileage. Take care!

Oh! That's a great idea! I think I might do that or a massage for a goal/reward. I started getting a monthly massage when I started swinging kettle bells (I needed it!). Enjoy the 'glowing' reward!!
