Has anyone else tried apple cider vinegar to assist with weight loss or for any other reason? What are the pros and cons? Does it work? Is it worth the taste? Lol

My mum-in-law swears by it. Personally I can’t stand the taste!

My mom used it for years. She'd put it in tea with cayenne. She was very healthy!

I keep ACV on hand intending to take a 2 tbsp shot every day, diluted in 3-4 oz of water - it's not something I enjoy, so it doesn't always happen. Mainly, I use it for its purported ability to reduce blood sugar levels.

I am. I dilute a tbsp in like 12 oz water. I am growing to like the taste. Idk if it is working to burn fat or not, but i figure it is a small price to pay and it can't hurt. I think it helps suppress appetite, and so it is helping with if which i am also doing.

I have a container the size of 8 glasses of water that I drink everyday. I only add a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and the juice of 1/2 a lemon. Not sure it helps weight loss, but it does have a cleansing effect for the liver.

I didn't notice any difference after I stopped taking it. You lose weight by subtraction, not addition. There are no studies that show any other health benefits from consuming apple cider vinegar.

Yes, inconclusive results for me. Be sure to use an ACV "with the Mother", such as Bragg's.

A week ago, a friend talked me into trying it (the kind "with the mother") so I bought a bottle. I looked it up to see if it was an old wives tale or such and found this site: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/6-proven-health-benefits-of-apple-cider-vinegar All I can say is that after over a month of very little change, I've lost more in this last week than almost since I started. I know that has something to do with the fact that I have also been down with bronchitis and a sinus infection, which has affected my energy levels, and this week I've felt better and been more focused on proper snacking, but for the most part there has been very little change in "steps" or "calories", just the vinegar. That's just MY experience. I'll keep hacking that nasty sh** down if I think it has anything to do with increased loss of pounds.

Apple cider vinegar has many health benefits: It levels blood sugar in the body, it sets your stomach to optimal acidity to maintain proper digestion. However, it does not taste good. But for the health benefits and because I have out-of-balance stomach acidity, I mix 2 tbl. with 10 oz. of water (I use more water sometimes, and use only super COLD water to dilute the bad taste a little more) every morning.

I use it in my salad and take a shot every few days. It definitely aids digestion for me. I don’t know about weight loss though.

Look up, "placebo". I'm not saying don't take it, I'm just saying be realistic about expectations.

I always thought it was just another popular fad, but I was reading in Dr. Jason Fung's book "The Obedity Code" last night where he mentions scientific studies that verify the benefit of apple cider vinegar on blood sugar levels.

I use it on boiled cabbage and carrots. It’s a low cal meal and it cuts down the gas. I’m not a fan of the taste of the cider vinegar with the mother so I use a blend of refined regular cider vinegar and the organic. I tried to drink it and it makes me sick. If you really wanna try it straight, mix it with Concord grape juice in a shot size. It helped me ALOT

It seems to help me with water retention, acid reflux and digestion. I drink 1 or 2 tablespoons a day divided and mixed in 12oz seltzer water. It’s good that way!

I was taking it everyday for about 2 months. Notice no difference.

It’s not a placebo effect for me. I have not had to take Nexium since I started taking ACV. Again I cannot verify it’s effects regarding weight loss but it definitely aids my digestion and helped eradicate my acid reflux.

I take a diluted shot of ACV every morning and a then a diluted shot of coconut vinegar in the evening. Not sure if either is helping with weight loss-but definitely helps kill any cravings I may be experiencing 🤷‍♀️

Vinegar does the same thing regardless of what it’s mixed with, it could be in pickles or by itself. Nothing “magical” about apple cider vinegar, only thing it may do is slightly help with suppressing appetite, but, that’s not an absolute, and as far as all the other “benefits/miracles blah blah” that ACV claims to do, many of them are just that, claims & general bs. Phil is right about the “placebo” effect, but hey even if it’s a placebo affecting you, mind over matter can still help lol

a friend of mine swears by it. she deputes 2 tbsp in 1 cup hot water and to cut the bitterness add 1 packet of stevia. it does cut cravings, and adds gut bacteria which is essential for weight loss. I just take a good probiotic with 50 billion active cultures.
