good morning all - got some exciting news so as you all know we have 4 chickens, one of them has been broody for some time and kept sitting on the eggs, we only have hens so there was nothing she could do with the eggs, dh ordered some fertilised duck eggs on ebay of all places, anyway the hen has been sitting patiently on them for about a month now, every day my little man moves the chicken to go a and check the eggs we keep telling him to leave them alone, yesterday he got them and there were signs of cracking so we thought he had broken them, we put them back under the hen, today 2 eggs have hatched and we have baby ducklings, it is just a waiting game now to see what happens, will have to keep my little man away from them, dh is going to separate the hen and duckling from the main coupe so she can look after them for a while :)
A lot been going on here in manchester there was a massive explosion which took out 4 houses and a little 2 year old boy who was watching the tv in his house at the time, has died so sad, there is also a man who was airlifted to hospital with 80% burns. This morning dh was travelling to work and he said a man threw himself off the motorway bridge into the oncomming traffic, luckily this happened seconds after dh has passed under the bridge.
Got my big food shop at the weekend saturday will be busy, need to get the big shop, then pick up my little lady's friend who is staying overnight, go home unpack shopping sort out the girls and meet a friend and her little boy at 12.00 to go to the school funday and bbq where my little mans hero sponge bob square pants will be visiting for the day he is so excited, i am knackered just typing it!! That is so cool that the ducklings hatched (lol they were bought on eBay - what can't you buy on eBay?????). I read about the explosion - really terrible, poor child and even more shocking your husband's near miss with the suicide jumper. Weekend sounds busy - I bet you are going to enjoy your shop :)

Hey Tracy i will indeed!!! going to have a go at some different food this month, thinking i might try toad in hole, there are only 50 cals in an aunt bessies yorkie puds so as long as i count it all should be ok (making my own batter), also going to have a go a lamb kofta's, it's just spices and lam mince stuck on a skewer and fgrilled will prob serve with green salad, trying to get diffrent variety of food in for the kids so they try everything, my little man is driving me mad at the moment, he doesnt eat breakfast at the moment this is his new thing, trying to make the food more interesting and look different

How lovely... Having ducklings :-).... Mmm crispy duck pancakes LOL. Glad C had got past the bridge - poor man, makes you wonder what had happened in his life, to drive him to such drastic action.... As for the explosion - you cannot relate to how someone could do something like that... I hope the guy they have arrested (provided he is guilty) gets a PROPER punishment - not some stupid 2 year sentence. Sponge Bob Square Pants - LOL... I bet D will be beside himself with excitement.... At least it stops him asking how long u til we go on a plane LOL

I agree Jo sometimes you just have to try different things, otherwise you just get bored with the same old food all the time. Mmmm I love lamb, I do a spicy stew with dates in and it is delicious :)

LOL.. Just noticed, one of the ads at the side of the page, is for chicken fencing. It will be an Aunt Bessie's advert next.... Or maybe 'the Samaritans" or Sponge Bob Square pants toys.

hey Tracy that lamb stew sounds lovely, i have never really stewed lamb, do you do it in the slow cooker or in a casserole in the oven?
28 Jun 12 by member: Jo3
Hey Jo - lamb stew is divine - I do it on the hob in a casserole pot - probably not the most ecomonical way of cooking, but it works and I don't try and fix what's not broke.....especially when it comes to cooking lol!!
