RoseTampa's Journal, 12 April 2018

Finally could upload some pictures. I blurred the b-day girl's face because she is not my child and it's not my place to post pictures where her mom can't see them. My son is her date and my hubby is other the other side of the pic. I was rained on heavily and goodbye makeup and hair. I threw my hair in a pony tail because it was wet and in the way. I no longer like the outfit I wore after seeing it in pictures.
Those cakes were flan and cake and I LOVE flan. I did well and didn't indulge in any. Everyone was just cheat one day, no biggie. Same the week before with someone else, and the week before with yet another person. If I did "cheat" as often as everyone wanted me to because it's ONLY one day, I would be eating off of my woe 4 or 5 days a week. Nope, one day a month is enough.
My garden is doing insanely well, who knew I could grow things? The beans are starting to hit the roof of the house. Crap, I haven't even fertilized them yet.
I weighed myself again this morning. 246.1 but I'm not logging it yet. I will wait until Monday when I should have my weekly weigh-in. I can't weigh myself everyday and must stop.
Well it's time to water myself. Have a great day everyone. :)

Some people really don't understand why it's so important to me to get healthy. For goodness sake, my uncle had his foot cut off due to complications to diabetes, no cake is worth that. :) One day a month is enough to eat off of my woe. :)

Good job 👏🏻 I love that you want to avoid health issues. People don’t understand I agree, ur reason n mine to be healthy do differ (maybe cause I did not get to that stage ...yet) But I agree people don’t get it n there is pressure to “oh u will be ok, it’s just one day/meal/treat etc” But no, we gotta be strong and say “I don’t need to eat that.” 💪🏼 Self discipline

Wow that's quite a spread! You are awesome for not indulging. It's too bad so many family members/friends think they are being kind by encouraging us to have just a little, it won't hurt you. If it becomes a spiral of binging it definitely will hurt you. One of my children (out of five) will be brutally honest with me about eating and my health. He helps balance out the others who say oh mom don't get too skinny. As if. Your son is handsome. He has a great smile. Good job with your garden. I planted some flowers in pots on my little balcony and I'm afraid they are going to be fried by the sun. It's been ridiculously hot.

Good job on blurring out the girls face. Most people just throw pictures online and never give any consideration to whether the people in the picture want to have themselves exposed in that way. These days I try to avoid people taking or including me in pictures for that very reason.

The table looks remarkable, cakes and all arrangement inspired me quite a bit. Very professional. Ready to be published in a fancy food magazine. And so was your resilience--remarkable! Well done.

You did amazing by not indulging, I don't know that I would have had the strength. I have people around me too who talk about how one cheat day won't hurt, but they don't realize that if I start a cheat, then I just don't stop, and maybe the next day is a cheat day, and so on. I do allow myself small indulgences here and there, but if I know I will go overboard, I just say no completely and stick to my healthy foods. You are doing an amazing job, so keep up the good work!!

The table wasn't even a table. It was plywood on concrete blocks with a table cloth. The layers were from 2 concrete blocks (hidden by wrapping with a table cloth), a desk top, a BIG white Styrofoam block for the next level with a piece of tabletop glass on top. A single piece of thin Styrofoam is on the top. Not expensive, just from stuff she had in her home. All the glass pieces were from yard sales around the area and cost maybe 25 to 50 cents each, just well washed. Size and shape didn't matter, just had to be clear glass. There was loads more put out after I took the picture but since I was helping I only got a few pictures.

Her decorations were awesome. All yard sale finds, max a dollar each. Spray painted white when needed. She had gold and white.
