Today is day 21 of not smoking - I have officially made it 3 weeks. I still have the urge to smoke - mostly after eating, or if I'm bored, or if I just had an emotional conversation. I think the physical addiction is pretty much over, it is just the psychological addiction. I didn't go to the gym today because I had to run some errands. All I had to do was return some shorts and buy some pants at a store, but I kept stopping for coffee and stopping for frozen yogurt. I love getting frozen yogurt - it makes me feel normal, like I'm not dieting and I'm not diabetic. I don't know what I will get for dinner tonight, I didn't bring my dinner to work. I had a salad from Chipotle last night and delicious as Chipotle is, I am actually getting kind of tired of it. I would love to eat some chicken kabobs - those sound delicious. I didn't eat breakfast today because I got up late. I really need to make myself an eggbeaters omelet for breakfast, I'm getting sick of eating yogurt and fruit every day.

Hi Kmartdollie! I love that name! I am writing because I read yesterday's post and I wanted to put my 2 cents in. I am sorry that your are not finding support from your family, but ultimately you have everything to gain so try to not let them get to you. About the smoking...that is why I really wrote...it is 4 and a half years for me and I still think sometimes...oh I could use a cigarette! lol...I'm not kidding. Not often, but once in a while. And I am convinced that it is a totally different experience for men than it is for women. I have read this also. According to what I have read, it is true that the physical part is over, but that doesn't make it less difficult. You do have a double effort going on with the diet too. Maybe trying to think of it as just getting tremendously healthier all the way around will help. The one thing that keeps me from giving in to having a cigarette is thinking "quitting was too hard, I never want to have to do that again." lol good luck to you.

Hi I have just found some videos on youtube about willpower by kelly mcgonigal. She is a scientist and her experiments showed that if we forgive ourselves we are more likely recover more quickly rather than be hard on ourselves. She adds that will power is like a muscle which can get tired and we can have stronger willpower if we sleep well. I found this interesting and hope you do to. Though I have never smoked, I was eating too many chocolate biscuits. This is my first week with fatSecret so I am just finding my way around.

Go to www.whyquit.com omg it is amazing. All free and you will learn relapse prevention. They have a facebook support group, too.
