Doing well. It is summer weather here in western Massachusetts where I live - into the mid 80s at least today, sunny and warm. My neighbors are complaining, they always are but it sure beats winter. I started taking some natural herbs for my allergies and they seem to be helping, but I just started yesterday. Almost all the trees seem to be blooming already as it has been so warm the past week. The grass is very green. Anyway, the dieting is going well, perhaps I have been eating a bit too much fruit lately after being on Atkins for so long - but I will cut back a little on that and the processed white bread that I have started to eat too, which I have to stop eating...

Funny that you mentioned Quercetin, that is exactly what I started taking. It has helped immensely. I take 500mg. a day when I get up, the other allergy meds at bedtime. Be careful not to take too much it can be toxic. I had a cough, took Elderberry cough syrup, which is just for viruses - I know it was a cough or congestion from the allergies also started the same time (with the recommendation of the syrup from a friend), and I am feeling A LOT better. The cough syrup tastes great - like blueberries - but can only be taken once a day. The health food store recommended the Quercetin. There also is another herb that is good - Nettles - some type of it. I haven't tried it yet. But the Quercetin works better than anything else I've tried. The congestion is gone with the help of the syrup too... Loosin, by the way I am going to at least attempt this summer to walk every day it isn't raining... I think I'll be OK staying under 200lbs. I may fast once a week too, maybe on Saturdays...

bullytrouble - If the allergies are bad the first place to start is with a nasal rinse package you can get at a department or drug store. You spray it in one nostril, it pours out the other and rinses the allergens out (that is the reasoning for doing it I suppose), and then you do the other nostril. One does it twice a day. It DOES help some, and it just has like a sodium type solution to mix with water. I also take some meds that I get from my doctor, Zyrtec and Flonase and I take some over the counter stuff if things are bad. So far the health food medicines are helping a lot. If you have any other tips let me know. I have a feeling I'll be keeping my doors and windows shut and vacuuming with my hand help vacuum a lot. Dust mites are literally impossible to get rid of, mold and grass seem to bother me worse. Be well...

Good work with the writing Glenn, everything else seems to check out quite well too. I'll be looking forward to your weigh in next week but, it sounds like you've got most everything covered. Thank you for your comments and words of encouragement.

Hope this finds your allergies much better. We are having terrible allergies here in Florida. Lots of pollen and my whole family is walking around with watery eyes, runny noses and sneezing. We are in air conditioning all the time and have tile/wood floors and there are STILL problems. Have a great Monday my friend and good luck on your writing. I'm watching the book shelves.............

Hi Next Number- I'm finishing up the seventh story for my science fiction short story book. I swear the forces of the universe are helping me write these stories because I have no idea how my mind is creating this stuff. I don't know how any creative writer/artist could ever be an atheist. The allergies are under control with the Quercetin. I went for a short walk this morning despite the arthritis, I have to MOVE, it is the best thing for it to keep joint mobility and strengthen things. I just wish it was warmer here more months of the year. As far as the allergies are concerned you might want to try those electronic indoor filters you plug in - I got some on a shopping network years ago and I have a feeling that they're helping. I'm doing well, and plan to go grocery shopping tomorrow and maybe for a walk tomorrow too as the weather is supposed to be good before a cold, rainy spell. I'm watching inspirational TV to help balance my mind with the highs and lows and it sure helped last night with the scripture readings that were scrolled across the TV for hours in the middle of the night last night when I couldn't sleep ... :)
