Wow are my muscles sore, first time in over 5 years I tried doing chin-ups again ,considering my weight I knew I would not be able to do them unassisted so I used a chair and pulled as much of my weight as I could with as little assistance as I could, managed 3 sets of 5 but I am sore today

It's good after 5 years! I thought that I could do chin ups and I was proud of myself until I saw that when people start a chin up their arms are fully extended. There is no way that I can lift myself from this position!

Put a chair underneath the bar and stand on it ,then grab the bar and bend your knees until the top of your feet are resting on the chair, from there you only use as much leg power as you need to get up try that and see if you can do it then. That's my method of getting it done

Great idea! Thank you! It took me a while to understand because I usually use a chair and start with my chin to the bar. I know as I said that I was doing them improperly.
