Finally, back on the workout train!
Hiccups, stumbles, love hate relationship with the pouch of tuna and the altruism farce.

After having a not so stellar week last week, both eating and exercise wise, today I'm finally back on track.

The Hurdle I Smack My Forehead On
Sunday evening my hubs and I decided (out of the blue) to remodel our bathroom. Once again the disruption to daily schedule and structure totally threw off my determination to resume my workout routine. UGH!!!
This is the story, over and over. Working out, at least in the initial few months of getting fit is very very hard to commit and stick to whenever family life gets very busy, or off kilter.

I'm still searching for the silver bullet to down this beast,.. how to effectively convince myself that exercise MUST happen along with everything else that must happen.
It's tough, there are only so many hours in a day, and when my kids or husband need help with something, or just want my attention I slide right into the trap of being 'mom' and 'wife' and not making my time alone w/my best frenemy named Exercise. :)

This will have to be the next phase of enlightenment or growth for me. I know I won't progress beyond gaining and losing every 6 months until I figure out how to overcome this.

Observations about today's workout
In as much as I easily gain weight, I can feel my body is MADE for exercise. When working out, at least in the first half when I have energy :) I feel the enjoyment of it. I think, "this is what my body loves to do, WHY did I put it off so long!?!?!?"

I need to remember that next time I hesitate, feel sluggish, or allow other things in life to edge out my time w/frenemy Exercise. I love it, and need to remember that. When I'm working out I focus, I push, and enjoy that!
Now, if I can just remind myself of this next time motivation or time is short. :)

Observations about today's nutrition, etc.
Late morning coffee (double shot w/new espresso maker,.. heaven, what a treat! :) with water on the side so I make sure to get enough

Took the GNC energy supplement late morning, and it seemed to work well. I had way more energy throughout the day and in my workout.

Did not eat enough calories prior to the workout, and felt it. Having a tough time getting the protein/carb ratio right, especially at lunch when I don't want to take a lot of time to cook. After a while eating tuna out of a pouch plain gets gross!!!! Must work on this.

Looking ahead....
Major busy time is ahead, both this weekend, next week and next weekend. I must stay motivated and committed to MY goals throughout. Maybe it is a little bit selfish, but when it comes to making time for exercise, altruism is bullsh*t. :-)
