My family thinks just because I changed the way I eat that I put them on a diet. I don't make them exercise or portion control their meals. I just cook healthier. I added salad and took out most of the bad stuff. My husband jabs at me when he can. "This is so expensive, can we afford this, I've lost this amount, should you be eating that?, you can't have that". It's like he's trying to make things stay the same. I tell him to cut it out and sorry I don't know what to tell you. I tell him to eat more. No one is denying him anything. He only eats dinner and then gorges out on snack cakes and pepsi. If he's losing weight that's his issue. I've told him I'm sick of being fat. I don't like the way my body looks when I'm naked. I feel insure so I don't want to be intimate with him. I want to play with the girls outside and be able to catch my two year old if she runs into the street. I know I can do this. I just wish that he would inspire me instead of trying to run me down. MEN!

Aww, I hear you. People don't seem to understand that when you make a change for yourself, you need their support along the way. I have to lose over 100 pounds. My family seems to eat more junky food than healthy. They bring home the snacks, etc. My family eats their goodies. I have my own meals and goodies. I would say that maybe you should try explaining to him again that you need all of his love and support as well as the kids. This will be a major change for you, something that will benefit you and the whole family ;) I know that you're doing the best you can. I would also tell the hubby to make his own food (haha) if he doesn't like what you're making. Sort of half joking, but ya know...something's gotta give. You're doing an amazing job, and you will continue to do an amazing job! I'm just hoping that everybody gets on board and backs you up even if they don't have common goals. You can DO it! :D

I know exactly what you mean. My friends and family will make snide, insensitive comments and all you want to do is smack them upside the head. Sounds like your pushing through it even though he's not making it easy. A lot of people are resistant to change and as time goes on I hope it becomes so natural he stops!

Many times when a spouse loses weight, the other spouse gets scared that their partner will leave them for someone more attractive (not saying it's your husbands problem, but who knows.) I would make sure he understands that it's not just about looks but living a long healthy life. Keep doing this for you. Get healthy and feel good about yourself. Your a role model for your kids.

It took me 5 years of begging, pleading and cussing at my husband to finally get him on the wagon with me. Now he's really into it. He keeps telling me he likes the way he's looking. He also likes all the attention he's getting ;) Family keeps telling him he looks good. I think you just have to find the right way to bring him around. Tell him it's really important to you. You want to be around for a long time for him and your babies. You can't do that if you're overweight and unhealthy. Men can be so hardheaded sometimes so you might have to keep trying. Hopefully he comes around.
