You didn't think you were getting rid of me yet, did you? :) Up at 3:30 and out the door for my morning jog. 4.19 miles at a 12:20 pace. Felt pretty good. I didn't push it, but ran a little faster as the miles went by. It's amazing how long it's taking to get back up to the speeds I was running on the treadmill. Oh well, it is what it is. The Summit goes from 11:00 till 5:00 each day for two days, starting today. There is a mandatory dinner at Alexander's Steakhouse following this evening's session. No significant others allowed. I'm not too fond of those. However, Alexanders is so good, even the cows can't wait to get in! So, I am expected to be in the office until 10:00 each morning, at which time I'll leave for the Summit. It's only a 20 minute drive away. They furnish the lunch, and obviously the dinner tonight, so I'm thinking I'm not going to worry a whole lot about RDI today and tomorrow. Here's hoping everyone has a great and glorious day! Toodles!

Interesting..... Is this from your Garmin? - I think that's what you have

Yep, Sk1nny, it's the Garmin. I only captured part of the screen. The left side of the page typically contains a Windows Explorer like tree structure that has the complete history of all runs and laps ever recorded. And because of its GPS capabilities, the top of the screen would display a map of your actual route with street names, etc.

aw. i have a garmin too, but can't get it to work on my computer with the websit. the wireless on my stupid Vista has always been messed up and won't recognize or upload stuff.

Jess, my Garmin is probably about 8 years old - a Garmin 201 Forerunner. I love it, but I don't think mine was ever designed to integrate with a website. I downloaded the "Training Center" software from the web, and installed the UPS driver, and it just downloads the run and lap data to the Training Center. I can zoom in and out, and analyze all aspects of the runs, but I don't think I can utilize any web analysis functionality.

BTW, Jess, I am assuming that you are using a USB antenna connection under Windows Vista. It should be a simple matter of installing the driver for the USB device, and the software to retrieve the data from the unit. If the USB device does not communicate with the watch, with the watch in the proper mode, then perhaps either there is an updated driver available, or you can go into an XP or 7.0 compatible mode to use the device. Just a couple of thoughts here.

uh..I'm not so computer savvy DK. I have the software installed. It finds my device. The data transfer box pops up and says 'transferring data' but when it gets to 100% complete there it starts over, there is an error. When I login to the Garmin Connect website it says I haven't uploaded any data. I tried adding another 'fake' run, the FAQ said sometimes that will jumpstart it. I've done it manually, and automatically. Nothing. It's my virus-ridden windows vista. Apple iTunes doesn't work with it either. The internet is slow as all hell. But I don't have a thousand dollars for a new one. I've had my friends hubby try to fix it for me. He has a master's degree in computers, it's his job. Not fixable unless I maybe rip out all the guts and get a new motherboard. I'll just wait til it dies and I can afford a new one.

You're probably right. However, if it's running on Vista, it's not that old. There is always a provision built in that allows you to restore the computer to the way it came from the factory. But you probably had to create the restoration disks when you bought it. If I was there, I could wipe out everything and restore the computer. Sometimes, you can go on the computer manufacturer's website and get a restoration disk. The guy with the Masters Degree ought to be able to do that for you. The viruses only attack the software that is stored on the hardrive. As a last resort, he can buy a new hard drive, and get the operating system for use with a new system probably for under $100.00. Not everyone with a masters degree in computer technologies does this kind of thing. Most of those guys do networking stuff for large corporations. You need a geek like me that does it for a hobby.

it's 2007. and it came with vista. i didn't install it. he did something like that for me, where he put all my stuff on a jump drive and reinstalled stuff. that was to fix it when it was way messed up. but it couldn't repair the wireless connection. i still have to plug it into a modem. thanks for you techie talk.

Look at you, DK. Mr. Technology. I'm impressed. And it looks like it's helping your running too. Well done.
