Maybe try carb cycling. You can google it. There are different ways of doing it. Eating higher and lower carbs on alternate days. Eating low carb a few days a week. You still lose (not as fast) but you get to eat more carbs. You might need to track your calories, but you can adjust as you go.

Blame it on the insulin. As soon as you eat something that will cause your insulin to rise, then your body reacts by stashing those calories as fat...this is especially true if we are insulin resistant. Google Gary Taubes, and read about some the research he has been doing. It may be tough, but once you learn exactly what all those processed foods are doing to you it gets easier. Passed on cake for my birthday this year....never thought I could do it, but it was easy when I realized I wanted to be able to celebrate a lot more birthdays. Artificial sweeteners can make it harder. They actually make you want sweets even more. They signal your brain that something sweet is coming, and when it doesn't show up, it sends a hunger signal. Another thing I gave up a few years back after learning how it makes it harder to lose weight, not easier.

Hi Marcia! I commented to you on my own journal where you had posted. I looked at your diet calendar to try to see what you might have done differently in the first month than what you are doing now, but it doesn't look like you were logging your food in during the month of May. First off, 10lbs in one month is really impressive for weight loss! It has taken me 3 months to lose 10lbs so in my thinking that would be very successful! You are right about the eating sugar seriously setting you back. You will have to make sure you get back into ketosis, and get all of that out of your system again. One thing I noticed is that your calorie counts seem awfully low. I know it sounds so contradictory to losing weight but you really have to eat enough protein to keep your body burning up the fat! I think you might be trying to compensate for the indulgence by cutting back on calories and it just doesn't work like that with low carb eating. Just get back to fueling the furnace with the right foods, and I think you'll see the weight begin to come off again. I'm learning this the hard way myself. I've actually been eating 1500-1700 calories the last few days which is way more than I normally eat when dieting and the scale is moving downward faster! So I'm starting to believe those who say you might stall if you don't eat enough. I know everyone's metabolism is different and what works for some just doesn't work for others so these are only things that I've seen in my weight loss journey. They may or may not help. I just wanted to let you know that I'm IMPRESSED with your loss so far, and would be encouraged if I saw those kind of numbers! :)

eventually you will re-train your tongue. I now find most sweets WAY TOO sweet. I bit into a salad and was surprised at how sweet the tomato was.
