What a long, exhausting day! Not a bad one -- just tiring. My day in a nutshell: I just went to the grocery store to pick up a few items. (We're out of fruit. I've been very very good on WW this week!!) I decided to let my 2 year old push the child-sized cart around the aisles (previously I had always gone out of my way to avoid letting her know that such a thing existed/was an option at the grocery store). So the next thing I know, she's careening down the aisles, yelling "Wheeeeeeeeee!" and slamming into things indiscriminately. I'm racing around trying to keep her from knocking into people. When I stop to find something, she's behind me grabbing items off the shelf and tossing them into her basket. "Wheeeeeeeee!" she screams as she takes off at yet another run, and this time I'm trying to catch her and return items to the shelves and not drop the stuff in my arms and apologize to everyone we pass. It was all so crazy that I didn't even have time to feel embarrassed. My only thought was "I AM SUCH A MORON!!" What was I thinking to have offered her a basket to push?!!! So this was just a microcosm of my day. Kind of crazy, a little (tiny) bit funny, but so TIRING. Is it time for bed yet? I'm going to give up my dessert points for a glass of wine tonight.
