pam-u-la's Journal, 11 June 2012

For once I actually had an alright weekend. Friday after work I was determined to get stuff done around my apartment and I did. Plus I made the most amazing bean burgers. Yes protein does make a difference in my energy levels. Go figure.
Saturday I spent the afternoon with my mom, went to the movies and then out for coffee after. Now I'm looking forward to our next outing which will be the sun fest. Saturday night was a chill night. Sunday however the humidex rose and it left me feeling like a giant blob of gew. So I did not do anything except the basics. Which being grocey shopping and picked up a few things.
Today tho it is back to work and I feel huge. My body is swollen because of the heat which I am having a hard time understanding since I have decreased my salt intake by at least 3/4. And I drank plenty of water yesterday too. But still this bloated feeling just keeps getting worse. Time to advise another plan of action to combat this.
Other then that I don't feel as emotionally drained as I did last week, so maybe that will inspire me to "do something" every night.
Well everyone here's to Monday! Make the best of it!

The heat can do mysterious things to the way we feel no matter how healthy we eat. So glad you enjoyed your time with your mama. My mama & I might have a movie date here at my house some time soon. Wishing you continued success!

Thanks "bud" :) Hey have you noticed during your weight loss journey that you feel both the cold and the heat more that you have lost weight? I thought since I got cold so quick in the winter that I would have an easier time this summer... but NOPE!

Have you had you're blood pressure checked? I bloat more when mine is on the high side, unfortunately. Worth a look. All this heat has me put off as well, it's been close to 95+ out all weekend and it has me hiding inside with the A/C. I saw a movie, too! Hope you enjoyed yours! Mine was alright (I'll say I was glad it was free!). Have a great day!

hey nat :) I'm one of those weird ones that my blood pressure runs on the low side and not the high. but thanks for the suggestion. spending time with my mom was great but the movie we saw sucked.

Ahh gotcha! Well, hang in there, n' keep your water handy. I'm sorry your movie sucked. :( Seems like Hollywood these days is slackin', but could be the cynic in me. I saw the new Snow White/Huntsman thing. Charlize Theron did a great job! Chris Hemsworth was some fun eye candy... but I dunno about Kristen Stewart. She kinda irritates me with her constantly seeming, 'I'm bored,' face. Sigh, what can you do? At least it had enough action to keep my attention!

I notice that the backs of my arms get cold in the air conditioning and that I don't like the ceiling fan blowing on me in the house. My theory is just that I am HYPER AWARE of my body now that I am health and weight loss conscious. Glad to be your BUD! He-he-he-he-he-he-he-he!

Hey Nat.. I saw the same movie and I almost fell asleep through it. :S and yes I definately have my water and all sorts of liquids handy to get me through this day... Hey my bud wie :) the reason you feel the cold on the back of your arms and all over is because there is little left there to insolate you. and that be a GOOD THING!

Silly Me! i was reading your comments and I came across the comment that said the backs of a FS member's arms got cold. I was just about to type, "Hey! the backs of MY arms get cold too! Then I realized that wiener4 is me - your BUD. Eeeeek!

Heat and salt will bloat you, no doubt. I've noticed that it can take days to get hydrated and stay there if you stick with drinking the water, but it only takes one bad day to throw your body out of whack for 2-3 days until you get hydrated again. Sucks. :-/ Happy you had a good weekend!
